Musicolet is a great music app that I’ve now used on several devices. The APK file is easy to find and install and works perfectly with my Kompakt. The app will find any and all audio files on your device and recognise their data tags, and therefore will organise them easily within the app. Musicolet reads all forms of audio files including m4a, so you can use it for audiobooks too. Creating playlists is very easy and there are numerous playback options and settings. The only thing you want to avoid, is putting the app in dark mode theme. renders the app pretty much unusable on an e-ink screen. The only drawback to this being a non native app, is that the player controls are not accessible from the lock screen as they are with the onboard music player. But, with any luck Mudita will take notes from apps like Musicolet and improve the rather lacking native music player, because lets be honest, we should’nt have to sideload a third party music player app onto a phone that has one pre-installed, simply because its fuctionality is so poor and limited.
