Delighted to hear many issues will be fixed in update.
The calendar is really annoying to use. If i go into a day to add an event and then tap the calendar icon on top right next to magnify glass icon it always brings me back to todays date and so i have to navigate back to the month i want to get to all over again. Please sort it!
Also it would be great to have a stopwatch or timer added. i like to use my phone to time cooking etc but the Kompakt doesn’t have this simple feature. Ive been using the meditation app to do this but you are limited to certain time lengths with no custom time.
i use simple calendar from fdroid, just no comparison in terms of features. honestly I think mudita would be best served putting resources elsewhere and just adoping the simple calendar codebase. I believe it’s open source.
I also want to request that there be an option to make Sunday the first day of the week that is displayed, it messes with me when Monday is the first day of the week. Also, please add holidays, or give us the ability to subscribe to a holiday calendar via a url.
What about notifications though? Are reminders for upcoming events surfacing somewhere without requiring you to open the app? This would be a critical feature for me
Hmm…looking at the app.jsx, I will be interested in hearing what people say about the new timer. I want one, but not sure this will work as intended - will it let you know even if your phone goes into screenlock? Is there any audible notification, or just flashing screen?
I am not a developer or coder, so I could be way off. I am interested in hearing what people say. I just do not want to add an apk and then not be able to remove it at a later time if unsastified.
@jppelt They say necessity is the mother of invention & this is my beta version of a stopper/ countdown because I need a timer/stopwatch for something I was doing. There are no sounds yet & it does not overwrite the lock display, but those things I am working on.
Thanks Urszula. I will let it ‘mature’ a little more I do not want to add f-droid or other ‘stores’ so am picky about my APKs. Actually, I just downloaded Android Studio - you inspired me to try as well . I am not a coder but had fun YEARS and YEARS ago…likely will lead to nowhere but hey, put it on the laptop…maybe 6 months from now I’ll have something to share
Been waiting literally a year for this calendar to be fixed and made much more convenient than it is, I am praying that this is taken care of in the next update
I use google calendar myself and invite my wife through her iCloud one, but I’m trying to use the Kompakt ‘as is’, so don’t want to sideload any apps. I’m happy plodding away typing in activities and events that I may need to remember when I’m just carrying the Kompakt instead of my other phone, but I’ve noticed there is one major flaw in the calendar app - no recurring appointments- for someone with a 6 year old who has constant club commitments, having to manually add every swimming and dance lesson for each week is a bit of a chore.
Is there any opportunity to add repeat appointments with more advanced alerts (more than just 5 minutes warning as is stock now) soon?
Keep a list of reoccurring appointments in the Notes app. That may work, I personally remember some things like that in my head, digital calendars are too easy to ignore when reminders come up.
The Kompakt might become your second phone while you still need the apps on the smartphone device, or ask your partner to add your schedule into her phone, and she can remind you of appointments.
How did people keep track of schedules last century?
Don’t hold your breath for this one. I have been asking for this simple change for like a year. It is simple things like this where Mudita constantly drops the ball. I have the same situation with kids that have repeating events and its annoying to have to constantly put in events. With my light phone 3 it was synced to google calendar and there was no issue with anything.
I am asking the team about this again. I know there was some discussion, but I’m not sure where the decision is at this point.

Dear @chrisrose83 maybe mentionable, this is your 2nd time with a Kompakt, you didn’t plan to let this happen… you are slipping onto the sideloading slope!
