no surprises there, but I wanted to be optimistic. I have now opened up the device, by following the screen repair guide, and although I am no expert in the subject, I’ll try to brush off any potential corrosion on the motherboard.
I do have a question though, and you might be able to help out. If the battery is disconnected, does the Kompakt still turn on if plugged in? I’d like to try and diagnose whether the battery, the motherboard, or the display are the ones who died (or maybe all of them)
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

unfortunately I didn’t get the mic working again. that said it’s been put back in to active service as my daughter has managed to lose the replacement Mudita (we think somewhere in the house!), such is life! She just won’t be able to make any phone calls until she finds it, but she can at least send texts/use signal.
I did wonder whether I could replace the mic but I’m glad I didn’t try as I would probably have rendered it unusable.

Unfortunately, on our end, there’s not much info that we can provide since it’s hard to pinpoint what was damaged. The device was in a wash cycle- so the damage could not only be WATER-related (because obviously 
) but also, tumbling in the inside of the washer drum could have also resulted in broken components.
The situation is far from ideal.
However, if you are thinking of replacing your Kompakt, we are currently running a “Back to school” sale, plus we have some outlet versions available for sale as well, if you want to go that route.
