Mudita Kompakt Warm Frontlight (Variant?)

Hi,

I keep looking at the Mudita kompakt ever since I tested it last year, but every time I feel like the cool front light is the actual thing stopping me from pulling the trigger (other things like Google Play Services make me pause butwith microg this should be manageable).

I feel like even a variant that just has a warmer, light warm to natural white would be a very minimal hardware update that could be pretty awesome, since the frontlight is for when it’s dark, and when it’s dark most people prefer warm lights (I think).

I love what this phone tries to achieve otherwise, and contrary to what mainstream opinions say about eink being slow, I actually find navigating on eink devices really quite pleasant.

There’s other features I’d love on such a minimalist eink device, and maybe making it a tad smaller, but this is the only one where I feel like the real cost isn’t engineering or compromise but just sourcing a different part.

Otherwise these things will just have to wait for the next version!

I agree. I was somewhat confused or disappointed that the front screen only has the cool light as when I was buying an E-Reader I always would look specifically for one that has WARM front light to reduce eye strain and to be able to read. It was odd they opted for both warm and cool flashlight but omitted something so essential in my opinion. I have to assume it was a hardware and financial limitation…Perhaps they will release this feature in Mudita Kompakt 2…don’t think you would be able to add it post hoc like that.
