Mudita Kompakt Honest Review Of the North American Version

My few thoughts here - I tested the phone for a week, I will say that connectivity with t-mobile is good on par with other 4g phones, has all of T mobile 4g bands. The sim card was activated on another phone. Sadly u need to call t mobile voicemail number to see if you have a voicemail no symbol no notification or sms voicemail box. Sms messaging works. I did find that fdroid worked real good as a playstore sideloaded, einkbro web browser worked about as good as on boox tablet granted its a small screen but scrolling and refreshing was pretty good. Couldnt get autocorrect to work with it though. Vlc player worked fine, with a pls file you can live stream audio with this. It worked in the background with screen locked just fine. Qr scanners do work. My biggest concern is in call volume seems low at 100% max in speaker mode wrote a post about that. Overall the speaker quality while not bad I had hoped it would sound as good or better than the phones I have for the price. I could buy a speaker but that would not be very minimal. The best thing about this is you can see it in broad daylight very nicely. I don’t recommend the screen protector - did not look matte to me as lights bulbs were relected like a glass smartphone screen. I also prefered the feel of the phone without the case. Phone was a bit slimmer and felt better in my hand. I barely use a phone, when I do usually its in airplane mode wifi calling enabled when needed it lasted about a week for me. Similer maybe slightly better than my other phone with a similer rated battery in power saving mode. I decided I will gift this to a friend he might try to sell it. Its an interesting phone, a hisense a5pro e ink phone I got way back had nice speakers the text dark looked great but had a glass display that had reflection that was horible, they had like no connectivity either. This one has the display like the kindle but the text is not as dark, sharp to me, and just doesnt stand out as well from what I saw however the connectivity is there and the display is very friendly in daylight. On a funny note using the browser I could use google voice in desktop mode and call out for free on wifi I could hear others better this way and they could hear me better. This was the one instance where I said to myself wow this actually sounds pretty good. Definitly some software concerns but I wanted to like this I think it has patential with software improvments.

Thanks so much for your detailed feedback! It’s Super GREAT to hear connectivity on T-Mobile worked well and that core features like SMS, QR scanning, and sideloading apps like VLC performed reliably. Your notes on in-call volume, speaker quality, and voicemail notifications are very helpful and have been passed on to the team for improvement.

We really appreciate you testing things like F-Droid, EinkBro, and even Google Voice in desktop mode (that’s super insightful & interesting).
We’re also glad you saw the value in the daylight-friendly display, even if the text contrast wasn’t quite where you’d hoped.

Thank you again for giving it a try and sharing your honest thoughts.
Feedback like this really helps us improve.
