Mudita Kompakt Frontlight “colour”

Hi there,

I would like to ask what colour tone the frontlight of the kompakt is. Would it be possible to adjust them from colder to warmer?

Regards,
Tobi

Hi @tobi It’s a cool white color. However, the brightness is adjustable. Here are some things to keep in mind:
The E Ink works very differently from OLED or LED screens.
E Ink displays do not emit light themselves—they reflect ambient light, much like paper.
Frontlight technology used here is positioned above the screen, shining onto the display rather than directly into your eyes. This creates a much more comfortable, natural viewing experience.
In Mudita Kompakt, it’s diffused and indirect, reducing eye fatigue.
At Mudita, we’ve carefully chosen this type of display to support your well-being—offering essential functionality while staying aligned with our philosophy of simplicity and healthy tech use.

Yeah this is what I love the e-ink it is just the healthier option, I even as I mentioned in another post have changed my macbook to grey scale, makes a huge difference when I am at work, for long hours staring at a screen I have noticed a noticeable impact on the strain of my eyes. Pretty soon I think the world will just look grey to me because all my screen besides my tv are in grey lol

I do wonder why not choose a warm light instead, like the daylight computer

or Kobo

I definitely use the warmest setting on all my ereaders!

How dim can the frontlight get before being completely dark?

@jfoigjboiwjefaij This is the decision that was made by our team. They thought that it the best option for a wide variety of users. Personally, I really like the way it looks. and having the light very dim options does not irritate my eyes and I actually do have eye issues.
