Even though I got a case for the Kompakt I have a feeling I will only put it on when I am hiking, day to day I don’t like having extra bulk on the phone and I know once I feel it in the hand without a case I won’t be able to put a case on, like with the pure felt so good in the hand I know Kompakt will as well plus it looks like the Kompakt is build like a tank

Kuba Klawiter from the Polish YouTube channel commented yesterday on the Mudita Kompakt, calling it a cheap knockoff of the Light Phone and comparing it to a kettle.

Maybe you should send him one for testing so he can see he’s wrong… it’s probably hard to form an opinion based on just a few pictures. contact@kubaklawiter.com

@zofia Thanks for sharing this. We’re not worried about a few ‘haters’ that are fishing for clicks & views. We know we have a GREAT product.

The differences are too many to call it a knockoff. The e-ink and feature phone ideas are nothing new and Light Phone has no exclusivity here. Maybe they were the first ones, I don’t know.

He is entitled to his opinion, I have learned in my digital minimal experience that getting into arguments over what phone is ‘better’ is meaningless. It has no answer. Pick the phone that is best for YOUR LIFESTYLE, the phone that makes you a more present person.

That being said…The Kompakt is the best no questions asked :joy:

I’ll be honest: the hype around the LP only makes me want it less.

I’d love to see the LP come even close to the battery life of the Kompakt. E-ink screen is the GOAT

@The Mudita Kompakt’s battery is amazing. Regular use is 7 days. Plus the it charges very quickly!

I was a day 1 pre-order of the LP3 (until I cancelled and ordered Kompakt) and even for me the hype has died down, last week I did feel a little FOMO knowing I could have had it in my hands this week lol, but after some of the reviews and using e-ink for so long now I think a lot of people will give the LP3 a try and either return to the LP2 or come to the Kompakt, there is something very INTENTIONAL about e-ink, not to mention it cultivates PATIENCE, something severely lacking in society.

Everything about the Kompakt and Mudita in general just speaks to me more that Light, but they are also a great company run by 2 really good dudes

Hello everyone.
I’ve decided to give the Kompakt a try as well. I’m not expecting anything magical, but I imagine this device could help me change the way my f****ng smartphone eats up a whole bunch of my lifetime (typing from my smartphone).
Let’s see how it goes in a few weeks!

I guarantee you my friend moving from a smartphone to a dumb phone will get you a large part of your life back, just make sure you fill all the free time you will now have with something productive or you will be right back to your smartphone ways

I think this is an important point.

I looked at LP3 as a potential option and a few factors made the Kompact the obvious choice. Mainly, with LP I would still need a secondary device for a few work tasks. I can sideload those onto the Kompact and have all my needs taken care of and streamlined on 1 device.
That means my old device can be stripped down to a few programs I use while hiking (offline topo maps, bird ID, tide charts etc).

Yeah this reasoning right here is why I believe Kompakt is just more practical than they LP3, you can build the phone they way you want to
