Mudita Harmony Software Update v. 2.9.1

What’s New
We’ve made some exciting improvements to enhance your experience with Mudita Harmony!
Here’s what’s new in this update:

  • Improved Power Efficiency for the Bedside Lamp: The bedside lamp now uses less energy, so you can enjoy its warm glow more sustainably.
  • Extended Focus Timer: Need more time to stay in the zone? We’ve increased the maximum focus time from 60 minutes to 120 minutes, giving you even more uninterrupted productivity or relaxation.
  • Easier Onboarding Experience: We’ve extended the time the device stays active on the On/Off screen during onboarding from 5 seconds to 15 seconds, making it more convenient for you to complete setup.
  • Bug Fix for MP3 Playback: We resolved an issue that caused the device to crash when playing back certain non-standard MP3 files. Your music and audio playback should now be smoother than ever!

We hope you enjoy these updates, designed to make Mudita Harmony even better for your mindful lifestyle. Thank you for being part of the Mudita community!

Grear, time to update. This is all harmony related, or something affects the old phone too?

This only affects Mudita Harmony and Mudita Harmony 2 alarm clocks.

I assume so, but mp3 player fix was a bit suspicious
Should be somewhat pointed in update.

@RasVoja This is only a Mudita Harmony 1 & 2 update. We are not releasing any more planned updated for Mudita Pure.

Understood. Still when same mechanism is used for serveral products, update feature list should say for which product they are. In this case Updates to Harmony 1/2: (list)

The .mp3 loop function is still broken. Both Harmony 1 and 2 crash when playback ends when the loop function is selected. The file looped perfectly before Update v. 2.9

The title clearly states: Mudita Harmony Software Update v. 2.9.1
The Harmony devices share the same software, so the update is for both.

My bad, software update took my attention. OK I am glad both Harmony and 2 are supported.

I have opened a ticket with no response. The .mp3 loop functionality is still not working for me after update 2.9 and 2.9.1. I have 2 Harmony devices and both consistently crashed upon attempting to loop the file. The fle is the identical one that was used before the update(s). Is there any way that I can go back to firmware 2.8 without sending me units back? I don’t want to spend a week + without my units as per the return policy.

I passed your question on to our team. I’m really sorry that you’re dealing with this issue!
I’ll let you know as soon as I have a response.

OK, I know more. Unfortunately, a downgrade is impossible.

Each Harmony version is tested against a large set of test files, and since 2.9.1, this includes a file that previously caused a crash on 2.9.0. We aren’t able to reproduce the error on 2.9.1, which suggests the issue may lie within the specific files.

Could you please send us the file that you’re attempting to loop when they crash? Without it, they can’t reproduce the issue or know where to begin troubleshooting. I’ll send you the email address in a direct message. :mailbox:

Hello from the UK

It’s taken me a year to getting around to updating my Harmony One and wow! It feels like I have a whole new device

I haven’t tried adding any of my own sounds yet, but the improvements and new features are fantastic.

I was suprised at the amount of available storage left, so looking forward to doing more with the device to help my New Year intentions.

@mrcole We’re glad you’re enjoying your Mudita Harmony! It really is an amazing device.
May I ask why it took you so long to update? Did you not receive info about new updates being available?

Hi Urszula
No, I’d been getting the info, it just wasn’t a priority, and for some reason I thought it would be more difficult than it actually was.

Once I downloaded the Mudita Center and hooked up the Harmony, it was easy. It went through three updates to get it to the latest version and it just took care of it all.

I just added my first relaxation sounds yesterday. It was a bit of a test as one of them is a 59 minute Autechre track (Perlence subrange 6-36). I was fully expecting it to break the device and although it crashed once whilst I was adjusting the volume on the first play, it’s played perfectly since.

The only minor impact of one of the improvements was for the (much better) volume adjustment, which now gives much more controllability at lower levels. I can’t be certain (as I may have just slept though the alarm), but I think my previous set alarm stayed at the old volume value, which on the updated scale is much quieter. Not a major issue, just something I noticed.

Anyway, the update has renewed my love for the device and I’m finding I want to take it everywhere.

Thanks for responding

I’m so glad to hear it. Now, that you know how easy it is to update the device, I hope you’ll keep up to day with all the updates. They really make Mudita Harmony such a versatile device.
