Mudita Center 4.0.0 is out

Good news: Mudita Center 4.0.0 is available for download, or will upgrade automatically.

Bad news: I still (!) see no option to uninstall apps, unless I’m too stupid to find it. Quite a disappointment!

And I also encountered a bug, which might also have happened on the previous version of Mudita Center, but it never occured back then:

While installing an app, my Kompakt suddenly locked itself (because of proper timeout), and when I unlocked the phone and tried to continue the install, it said “Installation process was interrupted”. I tried installing from a fresh .apk file, but that also didn’t work. Then I uninstalled the app via inkOS, and tried to re-install it, but it still didn’t work. Then I restarted the phone AND the Mudita Center, and it STILL wouldn’t work. Then I tried to install again, and then suddenly it worked. Maybe some process was still running ? But how would I know which one to stop before trying to install again ?

Is there a changelog?

A dark mode version of the Mudita Center would be nice. Using the Center during the night in particular is painful.

I didn’t even see a version number on the website

But yes there is a changelog, it just hasn’t been updated yet

But you should have a nightlight mode on Windows and Linux ?

More problems:

I just tried to install 2 more apps using the new Mudita Center 4.0.0, but for both apps I got the message “The installation process was interrupted”, although this time the phone wasn’t locking during the installation process. So it seems the new Mudita Center is buggy. Why am I not surprised ?

Edit: After about 20 (!) attempts, both apps finally were installed. These issues weren’t present in the previous version.

Mudita please fix this immediately, otherwise it’s not even possible to install apps anymore :frowning:

From my experience so far, the app installation says failed but the app is actually installed.

If I had one major ask from the next update it would be the ability to export contacts (unless I’m missing it…) It would be nice to export them and sync them over to another contacts tool for backup.

Wow, weird. Well that’s misleading then, I hope this will be fixed ASAP.

I was also hoping for an uninstall option for already installed apps, even when no .apk file is stored on the Kompakt.

think I might stick withe old wersion, I only use Mudita center for backing up / recovering contacts and moving audio books to the music player. I use web adb for installing apps.

what are the improvements over the old version?

YES !!! I agree ! I think it’s really a “political” decision that this option is not available, because i’m pretty sure it’s not very hard to implement :expressionless:

I wasn’t referring to color temperature; MacOS has that functionality as well. I was referring to have a dark mode option for the app, so the app can be black/dark grey instead of stark white all of the time.

@urszula Can this installation issue please be fixed urgently ? A new Mudita Center 4.0.0 without a working installation (or with faulty error messages) has no value.

@YYZ Our team was working on it this morning. I think you might have to uninstall & install again.

I just downloaded and installed it again and tried to install an app, but I still get the same error :frowning:

@davidray Can you confirm ?

Mudita Center 4.0.0 appears to have some quirks (at least for several users, see other threads). For those who want or need to revert to a previous version, they can be found here: Releases · mudita/mudita-center · GitHub

The release notes for Mudita Center 4.0.0 have been published and can be found here (for when the issues are fixed): Mudita Center 4.0.0
