Hi folks. I currently use “sexy launcher” and think its pretty good. Should it be added to the list?

Hey @Noteh : I have just released the einkMeditation App. It might be a good addition to the Mind Apps Store. See GitHub - tilmanbergt/einkMeditation: Meditation App. Let me know what you think.

Hi, that’s an awesome idea. I’m kinda afraid to go down the rabbit hole of chasing e-ink friendly apps for my Kompakt - and I tend to think I’d rather stick to the base apps and just wait for improvements – not looking up apps & tweaking is definitely part of my detox since I first started spending nights tweaking my Amiga computer in 1993… !

That is tempting and could be a good balance, though.

My question : do you (the developer) have to manually edit the database to look for updates of the supported apps ?

Thx !

Can you remove the banner around the app to make it more minimal? It would be great for it to be similar to MK meditation app layout, but be able to ring with the phone off and have a daily streak with good statistics. I have the Hibreak Pro model which is an e-ink device that I have tinkered with a lot. I would love a minimal meditation app with simple interface but I haven’t found one that has suited my needs…

@somastudy : thanks for your feedback. So are you talking about the frame background decoration? I will consider making this optional or configurable in the next release. I am not sure what you mean with " be able to ring with the phone off", though. Can you pleas explain. Regarding streaks: this is something the einkMeditation app is already doing, if I understand you right.

Hey! Yes the frame background decoration. Basically you can having your phone screen off while meditating and the ring will still work. Lots of meditation apps require the screen to remain on while meditating. This is a bit annoying for people who meditate for an hour at a time.

Made a new release that allows hiding decoration. Regarding screen off during meditatio: I have a feature to turn off lighting during meditation, hope this helps. Release v1.1.1 · tilmanbergt/einkMeditation · GitHub

Side note: this release now also includes interval bells.

@tilmanbergt Tried it and the new version seems to work very well! The only thing lacking now is a Kompakt friendly icon.

Ah, sweet! The display toggle is a great feature for those who prefer minimal design. I just tried with do not disturb option and just a reminder to everyone that the timer will only ring with the volume up. Just another feature request would be to add a heat map and a page to see the sessions logs so you can edit the sessions that you have. This may already be implemented. I haven’t done my first meditation yet in fear that I won’t be able to delete a test run! This is great - Thank you!

viewing and editing is a bit hidden and not nicely implemented. but if you go to settings => system and show recent practices it will show your sessions and you can remove them (or add them, in case of sesshins or other practice periods you do without the timer).

thanks for the feedback! I always used the inkOS launcher, so I never even saw the icon, so thanks for pointing that out. I improved it to be aligned with the default icons. Not 100% happy with the icon, yet, but this is how far I got.

That’s a lot better! Thanks!

Thanks for being so receptive to feedback! It’s awesome to communicate with developers and then have features uploaded  What does the candle timer look like?

Just try it out. Just means the time is hidden during meditation (except for the beginning) and small candle light displayed. You can bring the time back by tapping on the candle light, but it is a way to make the display 100% calm during meditation without turning the display off completely.
