Mimicking Two-Stage Shutter on Kompakt: Any App Suggestions?

I’ve noticed a common question among Kompakt users: does the stock camera app actually use focus? I’ve tried the sideloaded OpenCamera app, which lets you tap to focus, and while neither the Kompakt nor the Light Phone 3 has a great camera, both can take decent shots with some care.

One thing I like about Light’s approach is the two-stage shutter button—it lets the phone lock focus before taking the photo. On the Kompakt, I’ve been using the volume buttons as a makeshift shutter to try and replicate this.

I’m wondering—are there any camera apps that have a similar feature, like a delay or soft press to focus before capture? I know the Mudita camera app includes a 3-second delay, but it lacks feedback, which makes sense given the e-ink screen—but it still leaves something to be desired.

Edit: I found a temporary adjustment to help. OpenCamera allows you to customize the volume buttons to control focus!

Looking closely at the stock MK camera app behavior, it looks like it does allow to tap for focus - but no indication like a circle around tapped area.
Two-stage shutter sounds interesting. I may give a try to OpenCamera!
