Hi friends, I am so excited to read about the ability to silence some notifications (text messages) and not others (phone calls) with the new update. That has been my number 1 issue with the MK since I got it but I love the phone so much I have just been patiently waiting. BUT–I read this is now possible with the new update yet I cannot find where I can do this in settings. I am sure there are instructions somewhere but I have missed them. And I cannot find how to do it myself. Help please!

There are actually two places where you can set your settings.
Under settings you can tap SOUND and also under ACCESSIBILITY

So under “Vibration and Haptic,” “notification vibration“–notification here refers to SMS? Anything else?
I am looking to hear a ring but not a text message. So I turned that off.
When I go to “Advanced“ under sounds, for “notification sound“ there is no way to turn that off? It only gives me options for which sound.
And I realized I am still getting sounds for texts–that’s what I am trying to turn off.

You can’t do this out of the box since notification volume and call volume are tied together, BUT if you side load KompaktX and grant it permission to modify system settings you can change the notification sound to silent. Then you can uninstall KompaktX (unless you want to keep using it!) and the change should persist. The alternative (as @urszula has previously suggested) is to use the drums sound which is a bit quieter.

Don’t make me cry! I thought this new update finally allowed us to silence texts while keeping the volume on for calls?!
I appreciate those instructions but that is far too complicated for my little brain.

The fix for this release was to silence vibrations, not set custom ringtones. That’s coming in a future update.

The Call Volume is very weak on my phone - set to 100% it’s about 20% of the other “volumes” - but maybe it’s just my phone? I don’t know if other people experience the same thing but I end up saying “what did you say?” quite often when conversing.

Yes, same. So much so that I made an app to fix it. I know you’re a “bone stock Kompakt” user, but perhaps others annoyed by the low volume will appreciate it. It isn’t a panacea but it gives a noticable volume boost.
