Looking for Honest Feedback: How Reliable is Mudita Pure for Daily Use?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been exploring minimalist phone options recently and came across the Mudita Pure. The design, the e-ink display, and the overall philosophy behind the device are really appealing to me. I’m someone who’s trying to reduce digital distractions, and I love the idea of a phone that helps me stay more present and less glued to a screen.

However, before I make the leap, I’d really appreciate hearing from those who have used it regularly.

A few questions I have:

  1. Reliability: How stable is the Mudita OS right now? Any consistent bugs, crashes, or issues that haven’t been resolved?
  2. Call Quality & Connectivity: How well does the phone perform in terms of basic phone functions—calls, texts, signal strength?
  3. Battery Life: How long does a full charge last for you with light to moderate use?
  4. Updates & Support: Has Mudita been consistent in rolling out updates or bug fixes? Do they actively engage with the community for feedback?
  5. Daily Practicality: Is it feasible to use the Mudita Pure as your primary phone in today’s world, especially if you still need to occasionally hotspot or do basic communication on the go?

I’m not expecting it to replace a smartphone completely, but I do want it to function reliably for core features of veeam training. Honest feedback—good or bad—would be really helpful!

Thanks in advance!

I’ve been using kopakt for the last 3 months as aily driver! Get fdroid and install useful apps. sadly the stock apps really aren’t very useful (e.g. calendar doesn’t allow you to set up a reminder alarm an hour before a meeting, etc). but fdroid has a ton of open source and light apps that work really well. i love that whatsapp and signal work… and i actually love that i can’t consume much media . I cna listen to a youtube for the information but really im not drawn to the video like I would be with another phone.

Hi, are you talking Pure or Kompakt. The Pure is sold out, the Kompakt has just come out. I use it as my primary phone for over a month and am overall quite satisfied. But it still has very significant problems (like dialing people on its own, no working bluetooth connectivity). I hope most of these will be resolved in the update announced for this week. But as of now, it is a question of faith in the company to address these issues in a good way. I do hope they do as beyond these problems (that I consider not totally unusual for the a new product and first of its kind for a small company) it thoroughly enjoy the phone.

well i typed the post quickly (with one finger injured) so i have a lot of typos, but I am talking about the kompakt. Been using it for a while now as my daily driver. Feels like about 2 months? Honestly I don’t feel the need to go and check when i actually received it in the mail.

anyways, I LOVE the phone. lots of little pet peeves but its great to stop me from engaging in digital addiciton. super happy.

I loved and hated the Pure

Loved because it would have been the perfect mobile phone for me if it hadn’t had the reception problems.

If you fancy a read, here are a few impressions of the Pure from me:

If you are comfortable with a touchscreen, then buy the Kompakt and leave it as it is. Don’t install any apps via sideload and hide all apps in the menu that you don’t need. That’s how I do it and I’m absolutely happy with the Kompakt. But if a Pure 2.0 came out with the same signal quality as the Kompakt, I’d be hooked

To answer about the Mudita Pure’s feasibility - yes, absolutely! You just have to be organised
