Kompakt users in France : which carrier?

Hi everyone !

Is there anyone else here using the Kompakt in France ?

If so, what is your carrier and did you manage to have VoLTE calls working ? (No 3g fallback)

Here, always been using Orange based carriers (Telecoop, Sosh) but apparently it is impossible to have the Kompakt on their VoLTE whitelist. So lower quality calls, less compatibilty, and no more calls after 2028…

Really looking for a long term solution ! What can Mudita do to have their phone certified ?

This is currently my perfect phone (6 months user), I reaaaaally want to keep it in the long run !

Thank you for flagging this. Could you share what reason your network carrier is giving you? Are they using the word “whitelist” or that Mudita Kompakt is not certified?

Free Mobile, it works flawlessly. Both with VoLTE and VoWiFi.

Yes, they said the Kompakt was not on their VoLTE whitelist and probably would never be because it is too niche and that Mudita did have to perform the certification process.

They did force it once but that was temporary.

Oh. Interesting ! I really did not want to switch to Free (because of its CEO etc) but if I have to to keep my Kompakt, I will ! Thanks !

I’ve reached out to our team about this & asked them to look into it. I’ve used Kompakt in France (but I was roaming in Cannes & Nice) so the capability is there.

I wonder how it works in case of roaming. But I reached out Orange several times and had a chat with an executive who confirmed it was not supported / whitelisted.
