Kompakt NA & Global: Now BOTH in Regular Sales!

As of today, both Mudita Kompakt versions (NA and Global) are available for regular sale.

Shipments for Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and pre-orders from our store have now all left our warehouse*.

This means free shipping & standard delivery times on new orders of Mudita Kompakt: up to 3 working days in EU, and 5-7 working days elsewhere.

Our primary focus is now on continuous improvement. The next major update (version 1.2.0) will launch at the beginning of July with nearly 70 fixes and improvements, including significant enhancements to the Music Player app, such as:

  • improved integration with the car’s music control system,
  • music widget on the home screen for quick access and control,
  • enhanced touch area responsiveness of the mini player,
  • improved song list behaviour.

We’re closely tracking your feedback on this forum, through surveys (emailed shortly after your device arrives), social media, and support tickets - so please keep sharing your suggestions. Your voice helps us prioritize upcoming fixes and improvements!
Based on your feedback so far, here are some of the features currently in development for future updates:

  • SMS group messaging,
  • option to remove the Mudita logo from the lock screen,
  • Bluetooth connections and paired device management,
  • expanding keyboard’s special character support,
  • language-specific keyboard layouts (e.g. French)
  • enhanced sorting/filtering in Music Player and Ebook Reader,
  • point-to-point map navigation,
  • recurring calendar events and Google Calendar data import
  • audio file management via Mudita Center

I know a few of us who are using the meditation app would love to see consecutive days meditated on the statistics! This helps us create a streak and build momentum with meditation! I just got my mudita yesterday and I love it! Just sharing a small piece of feedback that I think would enhance the meditation app!

  • point-to-point map navigation- LOVE THIS, I am guessing this won’t be live turn by turn? As long as their are written directions on the phone from one point to point that is good enough for me but turn by turn would be nice!

I have been following the forum quite closely in the past months, cannot recall that anyone has asked for these features:

  • improved integration with the car’s music control system,

  • enhanced touch area responsiveness of the mini player

I am just questioning if it makes sense to spend time and effort on functions which are not requested, against some that would be maybe more essential

I ordered my Kompakt on pre-order, albeit somewhat later on (May 10th).

Should I take it that my device has already left the warehouse, considering that it was a pre-order?

I have reached out to the support staff via email but haven’t heard back yet. Order still says processing on my account page.

My impression from getting my Kickstarter-backed “Global-optimized” Kompakt delivered to me here in the USA on May 5th is that Mudita uses UPS to ship to customers in the USA.

If you are receiving your Kompakt in the USA, then I recommend that you create a free account at UPS, as this will let UPS email notifications to you as it receives information from a shipper such as Mudita and as your shipment travels to you.

I did this years earlier and found that UPS was better than Mudita at keeping me informed about my shipment!

Thank you for posting this plan for some additional clarity. I’m sure everyone has their wishlist, but I do believe you missed one major item which should be a top priority:

Fixing the overly sensitive fingerprint reader (probably by only waking it after click)

Many users face frustration with this, which can cause pocket dials, and constant vibrations from failed reads.

While some of the above points fix issues with one app or experience, this fingerprint reader is a problem I face every time I pick up or set down the phone, or try to place it in my pocket. It’s really not a pleasant experience and I’d highly recommend prioritizing a fix. All users are probably impacted by this, regardless of their use case for the phone.

I would also like to have to actually click the power button to unlock.

The transparency into what some of the things expected to see in the next release is appreciated in any case though.

Luckily I just turned the finger print sensor off and I don’t even use the pin, but I agree with you this should be fixed ASAP

Thank you for the post guys but I really wish you had some major changes to the lockscreen in the pipeline.
Yesterday, I missed a phone call, and the notification didn’t even appear on the lockscreen…

A persistent, always-on (and optional) notification screen like this would be perfect for me and many other users:
Afterall, since the MK is using an e-ink screen, the impact on battery life would be negligible

The fingerprint sensor being overly sensitive is probably the worst issue at the moment

As for disabling fingerprint and PIN security… this movie scene flashed through my mind haha

I removed all of it. I had the LP2 for a few years before Kompakt and had no password completely for years.

I really admire your confidence, but I’d be terrified to lose my phone if it didn’t have a PIN.

I live in pretty safe countries (Cyprus and the UAE), but I travel quite a bit, and the chances of getting a phone snatched out of one’s hands aren’t exactly zero haha

One update that I have heard many people request is to be able to use the volume buttons to turn pages in the E-reader app. Is this on the agenda to implement for 1.2.0?

Another issue I have heard about is the ability to record videos. Will this be implemented for 1.2.0?
