I personally would like the option to remove the ‘emergency’ button from the keypad completely. Now I have changed the number to ‘9000000000’ instead of 911 (or 112 over here in The Netherlands). The phone can’t dial 9000000000 so it does nothing else than saying it can’t dial the number. It’s a workaround, for now. Hope they will solve this soon. Just remove the emergency button, don’t need it, don’t want it ![]()
@anon16610105 I have good news
Our team is working on getting this done ![]()
While that is good news, it is also quite old news. To be honest the way this problem is handled by mudita is not in line with what I expect. of a company as mudita. this is a really dangerous, embarassing behavior (and distracts police from other important things). I would expect a statement from the muditas company leadership apologizing for this and bringing out an update with some urgency and not treating this as just one thing that is a bit buggy. This has something to do with core mission of Mudita around mindfulness. That customers call random people or emergency services and bring worry, distraction, confusion into their lives is the exact opposite of what the company and phone and their customers want to stand for. So I feel pretty uneasy about these comments of “Our team is working on it…” more than a month after the issue has been first reported (particularly as there seem some pretty easy ways to at least disable the emergency button that could have been shipped weeks ago). . Speaking for myself it does diminish my trust in the companies ability to understand what are truely sensitive issues to its customers and react to them appropriately (while fully recognizing that I might be wrong and it is not as important to a lot of customers). Perhaps I am wrong and this is very important to Mudita as a company: then please show this to us! Particularly with a company new to the market trust is so important and I want Mudita to succeed.
@tilmanbergt Thank you for your thoughtful and honest feedback. You’re absolutely 100% right that this issue touches on something deeper than just a technical bug. We fully recognize the seriousness of unintended emergency calls, and we agree it’s not a matter that should be downplayed or treated as just another minor software or design glitch. The confusion and distress it can cause for those on the receiving end (including emergency services )is something we take very seriously.
That said, we could have communicated our progress more transparently and urgently, especially given how important trust is for a young company like ours. Behind the scenes, our team has been actively working on getting this fixed. We understand that work behind the curtain doesn’t count for much unless it’s communicated clearly and followed up with action, so your point is well taken.
We’re grateful you’re holding us to a high standard. That’s the kind of community we want to build. And yes, we absolutely want to succeed, but not at the cost of losing sight of the principles we were founded on. Your message is a strong reminder of that.
Thank you again for brining this us. Out team is on it.
Thank you @urszula for taking my feedback as constructively as it was meant. I do appreciate the tone of your message. Awaiting next follow up steps from mudita.
