As the native eBook reader is too simple, I’ve installed well known, multiplatform KoReader and I must say that’s working perfectly and have all options and settings you want. Even dictionaries
Thanks for the info. I was hoping to use in landscape mode for reading books. I feel like it would allow for more words on a line so your eyes don’t have to constantly move back and forth on the narrow reading column in portrait mode. So my question is, will the app shown above function in landscape mode on the kompakt?
I’ve not got my MK yet but use KOReader on my Palma. The screen rotation works independently from the OS built in rotation so should work and is exactly what I’m likely to do. Hopefully op can confirm
Nice, can you control the e-ink render / display mode in this in some way? Like if its fast refresh or more quality rendering?
yes. you can control pretty much everything you want (boldness, sharpness , clarity,. darkness, etc )
What are your preferred font settings? Did you change the screeen DPI setting as well?
I did change the Screen DPI in settings to Big (240). The font size depends on a book (between 22-26)
I find the KoReader too bloated with menus and settings. Lithium is much more simple and easy to navigate, and still offer enough settings for my taste. I have setup horizontal reading and with volume buttons as page turn. It’s really great to read on this way!
Nice. Yeah, KOReader has a load of settings
