Kompakt case impressions

Yeah, the case is terrible. I’d really like to be able to slide the phone in and out of my pocket without pulling my pocket inside out.

  • that friction makes it tear after a while if the pocket is too tight

Yeah, really hope they solve that issue. Or maybe somebody could build a third party case.

Honestly, I’m disappointed with both the case and the screen protector. The case material itself feels nice to the touch, but the shape is too rounded — it doesn’t add grip, and the phone just wants to slip out of my hand and meet the floor (leaving me heartbroken). I actually find myself preferring to use the phone without a case at all.

But the real letdown is the screen protector. When I read “semi-matte” in the description, I imagined something completely different. In reality, it’s shiny and reflects every possible light source. At night, the edges literally “leak” backlight — looks painfully cheap (pardon my French). Worst of all, there’s no oleophobic coating, so it collects every fingerprint known to humanity. Even with clean hands, the phone looks smudged and messy.

In short — I’ll probably end up using my phone naked. These accessories just didn’t pass the vibe check.

@dumbwireless had made a case for the LP3 to hold CC. I do not know where it was officially confirmed but I had seen mention they may be making a case for the Kompakt as well. I reached out via instagram comment and am still awaiting response for further confirmation.

I read it know twice, that users are complaining about the screen protector and the light it comes out of its edges. For me I have to say that I really like this, it looks similar to some ambilight stuff and adds 100 bucks of quality. Although the surface is a bit glossy, I never have issues that it feels disturbing for me, even in bright sunlight.

The case itself is of course a bit bulky, but only this way it does what it should: protect your phone from damages. It is a shame when you see how many broken iPhones are listed on ebay, only because people refuse to add a case. For my previous phones I used the Spigen Rugged Armor cases, that added also a bit of size and worked pretty well. The only difference is, that they are made of a different material that feels less like silicone, is more grippy but at the same time slides easily into the pocket and collects less dust. I wish that there would be somehow a case of a similar material available, but the overall size is ok for me. Remember the phone itself is already not the thinnest on the market.

I’ve passed on the feedback to our team.
Personally, I don’t have anything bad to say about the case. I love it.

Just to confirm - my pockets also like my Kompakt too much to release it easily.
I fully support options for different case, my 2 cents:

  1. Reduced gap between screen protector and case (the way it’s now can get super filthy).
  2. Lanyard hole - can serve as protection from phone falling down and fun way to add your custom bling to the phone - some edc beads are way too cool.

Man, after using the LP case and having dealt with iPhone Apple cases, I LOVE my Mudita case. Have the green and just ordered (and received today) the lake blue.

I use the phone without the case, not because I I think there is anything wrong with it. The kompakt is already build like a brick, I have not dropped it, the most important thing to me is the screen protector, I have no issue with the screen protector I forget I even have the screen protector on.

I really really love the case, it feels pretty good, protects the phone and looks very nice. Love. It!

I like the case but after few months, I already have three tarnished spots most likely from the in/out friction in a pocket. I’d go for Spigen armor type of case or some custom genuine leather case.

BTW just found this lol Amazon.com: Leather Pouch Case with Belt Clip for Mudita Kompakt Phone (Magnetic Closure) - Black : Cell Phones & Accessories

I need to add here, that after a few month now, I’ve become a fan of the case. I’ve tried three colors, sage, black and recently during the sale, the pebble grey one. And funnily, the grey one feels entirely different. It’s not that sticky anymore but still has a nice and protective thickness to it.
Is the stickiness related to the color or was the material changed on later charges? I really like it!

I have a the pink & lake blue one & BOTH of them don’t feel sticky. It’s more of a velvety silicone feeling if that makes sense.

I hope when you decide to make the yellow version after all, it will be of similar less sticky touch like the grey one :innocent:

I find the case to be well made and a nice addition to the Kompakt, in terms of bulk, the case thickness is a around 1mm, not what I would describe as chunky, the phone itself is not exactly svelte and that is not a criticism. I would describe the case finish as grippy which is just what I want from a case, at the price point I dont really see any cause to complain really.

I was looking for a case to go with the kompakt when I put in my order, but none of the accessory selection worked for me. As someone previously mentioned, I’d like to see a leather case in saddle or brown, and if possible, with a front cover flap (like the ones you get for e-readers) to protect the front screen while stored in the bag or pockets.

I just received a green case which I bought during Black Week sales. I was excited because I was thinking about buying it for a long time but… seems that this etui doesn’t fit Mudita Kompakt very well. Check my photo - it doesn’t fit on the right side of the phone. This doesn’t look good and unfortunately I need to return it  Anyone else have the same issue with etui?
