I’m about to order the Kompakt, but I have some questions that I couldn’t find the answer to in the FAQ. First, I need to know if the keyboard will support more languages than the 8 the OS comes with. Living in Sweden, I need a keyboard that can write å, ä, and ö to be able to write messages.
Secondly, I’m wondering about the shipping price for add-ons. As for now, the case and the screen protector add 10 EUR each to the already existing shipping price for the Kompakt. Is it supposed to be like that?
Lastly, I’m curious about the screen. What PPI does it have? And is the screen matte?
I think that’s all. I love my Mudita Moment and my Mudita Bell, and I’m so excited about this phone! ^^
@roberto & @pugly while Mudita Kompakt will properly show special characters from Swedish or Danish, you wouldn’t be able to type them yourselves. edit: this is how we intend it to work on shipping day. Support for typing special characters may be added later via software updates.
The screen is matte and has 800x480 px, 216 ppi.
As for the shipping price, this is a mistake on the campaign. Add-ons are free of any shipping costs. We will refund any/all extra costs after the campaign!
UPDATE: special characters will be ready at LAUNCH. @pugly I just confirmed with our team that support for special characters will be added to the keyboard. They will be available regardless of the language setting.
This probably won’t be ready for shipping day, but will (instead of “maybe will”) be implemented via an update.
216PPI is still low for people that need increased backlight. If e-ink tech allows, please consider 400 Ppi for next model OR as screen paid upgrade. Is the shipping price distance related?
Has this shipping cost changed since you wrote this? I am being charged 30 euros for shipping to Australia of one Mudita Kompakt with screen protector and case even after I questioned the 30 euro shipping price and referred to Forum posts stating 15 euro shipping price. Am I mistaken?
Yes, after removing extra items from my order - it’s now just Kompakt, case and screen protector - and customer service writing that the 30 euros shipping fee would not change I wrote this to customer service:
“I’m a bit confused why you’re saying the shipping cost won’t change. Aleksander from Mudita wrote on the Forum back in October that shipping to Australia would be 15 euros.”
Customer service wrote back:
“When it comes to shipping price, I was informed that it would not be affected by this refund.”
Customer service provided no explanation of my now being charged double listed shipping price for the new Kompakt… Customer service also did not write to inform me the amount being refunded. Providing details of a refund is normal business practice. I read that if notified before shipping began, Mudita would refund payments for items ordered through Kickstarter I saw nothing about partial refund only… Are you able to clarify @urszula?
The amount that came into my bank account in my currency,does not come close to the 237 euros for the 2 items, and certainly does not cover the extra shipping that should have been refunded. What is going on?
I’m a bit surprised as generally Mudita customer service has been very good.
@neatsolutions Did you place the order already? If you placed your order, could you please DM your order number so that I can check on this for you. I can confirm that SHIPPING should NOT be 30 euros to Australia, but only 15 EURO.
i don’t think that the keyboard supports Swedish characters, but double-check with support to be sure. As for the shipping cost for add-ons, it’s normal but you can confirm with support. For tariffs, **W2C **can help you estimate any extra fees
and has 800x480 px, 216 ppi.
