Just got it and I cannot make or receive calls

I have been so eager to get my phone I am making the switch from the light phone II. However, it doesn’t work! I updated the software and I haven’t sideloaded any apps and the phone does not make or receive phone calls. It is extremely frustrating and I sent a ticket to support a week a ago and they have not responded even though I have followed up twice. I feel this is happening to a lot of people and that is why they are not responding yet.

Ardila, I’m truly sorry to hear that your Mudita Kompakt is not functioning properly, and that our response from Customer Support has been delayed. We will do our best to catch up and assist you as quickly as possible.

If the suggestions from our support team do not resolve the issue, we will gladly replace your device with a fully functioning unit.

While it’s unlikely, we also cannot entirely rule out the possibility that the issue is related to the local network conditions in your area. If that turns out to be the case and you are unable to use the phone, you may return the product for a full refund.

A handful of users in North America have reported difficulty activating a new SIM card in Mudita Kompakt. In such cases, activating the SIM in a different device first and then transferring it to Mudita Kompakt resolves the problem.

It has also happened that users unknowingly attempted to make calls while Offline+ mode was still enabled. Please make sure the physical Offline+ switch on the left side of the phone is in the correct position.

I sincerely hope one of these suggestions proves helpful and that your experience with Mudita Kompakt will meet your expectations. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Are you located in North America? What provider are you using?

Yes – North America using Verizon. I know it is not the network because I am just switching from a Light Phone II that worked well.

Really eh, yeah that has to be annoying since its North america optimized, I hate when this happens to people because I remember what I went through with the Mudita Pure and it not working here in Canada, very frustrating when you wait so long for a device and then you finally get it and it does not work. Luckily for me this time around with the Kompakt it has worked flawlessly here in Canada. maybe you will have to try another provider unless of course you are locked into a contract

So I was just watching this video

He mentions he is using his Kompakt on Verizon, wonder why it works for him but not you

I have no Mudita experience, but in a similar situation I found it helpful to watch a video about switching phones, or switching devices, on Verizon. Actually, my carrier was different, but videos helped me understand the details.
For example,

Apologies if you have already assured yourself that the steps you went through were correct.

I appreciate the empathy thank you for that. Its very strange, actually my mobile network is Xfinity which is ‘backed’ by verizon, which I do not know exactly what that means. It should verizon on my SIM and I see a verizon APN. I do not know if this has something to do with it.
