Is true privacy actually dead or dying?

So this thread is super interesting - funny and highlights to me how out of control the ‘controllers’ of the world are.

Power of the people - next there may well be an uprising of people who use govt laws to claim their sovereignty and ‘ownership’ of all of their data - regardless of so called ‘company privacy policies.’ If a company voids their own policy, perhaps it opens a door to users reclaiming their data?

Control me not - just allow me to BE. And if you don’t I’ll just BE anyway :smile:

Well in order of laws from Swiss - European - US - Chinese / Russian etc, one may assume that the US is not much better in collection then any other, while European countries cooperate with the US, questioning any privacy in practice, Besides these state actors, the US data Googles abide by the above, cashing in on data.
Without any restrictions for the European side things will not improve.
Ultimately the only solution about data is a law abiding government and all possible technical solutions like encryption zero knowledge.
First actually should come the user itself , most people just do not know what they do.

@kirkmahoneyphd $50…oh boy. Isn’t TELUS a Canadian network provider? That’s odd.
The article rightly raises concerns about the ethics and safety of such data collection, especially in the context of AI training datasets that have included inappropriate content.

@kirkmahoneyphd I seriously don’t see the appeal of DNA testing. I mean, yes, there is the ‘curiosity’ aspect of it- but then again…‘curiosity killed the cat’ LOL
In Poland we have a saying “Ciekawość to pierwszy stopień do piekła,” which literally translates to “Curiosity is the first step to hell.”
This phrase similarly warns about the dangers of being overly curious.

OMG-----not VW! I drive a 2014 VW and I think they are good cars. But I would definitely not get one with ChatGPT.
