Honestly, I doubt it. The Mudita Pure is all about keeping things simple and distraction-free, so adding something like a weather app seems a bit out of line with what they’re going for. I’ve been using it for a while now, and I love that it doesn’t have all the usual smartphone distractions. I can see why they’d want to keep it as is, focusing on the essentials.
We;ll optional weather info is not that much of distruction. But non fixing / development of old MuditaOS for Pure / it being EOL is more of a reason
Having a weather app on Mudita Pure was never on really considered when the phone was being developed there main reason is that the phone was intentionally offline- so there was no data connection- so there would not be a way to get the weather info on to the phone without major modifications to hardware.
Well Voice over Internet and Tethering did use 4G, so its not impossible, but I understand it was not a plan
@anon11367638 yeah, this was my thought too. You could use the data most phone plans come with to run a weather app? Unless that’s blocked somehow @urszula

The Mudita Pure modem was a bit different than other phones. It was specifically designed to limit SAR & due to that even though 4G (only 6 countries) was available in some areas, data in the context of ‘internet’ is not possible.
Weather apps primarily use internet data. There is a difference between 4G phone calls (VoLTE) and internet data (Wi-Fi or mobile data) and it comes down to how they transmit information and their intended use.
- 4G phone calls (VoLTE) are part of the mobile network, optimized for voice.
- Internet data (Wi-Fi or mobile data) is used for everything else, including app-based calling.
Mudita Pure does not have the internet data option
