I own one E-Paper device (eReader), and sometimes I’ll interact with it, only for it to not respond. I assume this is widespread with epaper, and maybe an issue with response time.
If those of you who currently possess a Kompakt have experienced something like this, I’m thinking maybe a small dot in the notification bar while touch is detected could help. Let me know if that sounds useful to anyone!
A side note, please give us the option to activate the flashlight by holding the power button. It is by far the best and most convenient way of doing it. I say this coming from a phone with a 90hz display… it’s just so much easier than looking at the screen. Thanks!
A great idea. I would love to use the physical buttons more for actions. Like press the power button two times for flash light and three times for quick dial a preset number or something else. This would mean even less screen time for simple things.
Yes to add staggered button sequences with time hold release states alone or in combination with other keys allows for many different setups. I mean. There is basically 6 physical buttons now.
And they can act differently depending on mode / app / location.
Bring this together with gestures and even more is possible.
I always are of the standpoint that all those features should have a clear normal easy coherent trigger / acces point. That is for the general user.
But I always feel assign such super user shortcuts really really is what takes a UX experience from being Ok to being. AWESOME = really next level pro
And for me this is exactly what I want in such great product. And actually this is what Apple did in all there biggest stuff. Looked researched. Took something good. Dared and made it great. Scary but great.
@StefanHQ Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Are you suggesting a dedicated menu for assigning advanced button shortcuts based on different contexts (e.g., app-specific actions, system-wide triggers)?
Mudita Kompakt is designed with simplicity and mindful tech use in mind. Please keep in mind that the focus is on an intuitive, distraction-free experience rather than deep configurability. That being said, we’re always open to feedback, are there any specific shortcuts or features you’d find most useful within the phone’s existing interface?
