I used this guide to do it. Using an old iPhone SE I got for $50 on ebay that is in airplane mode 24/7 and number has stayed linked.

I’ve got OpenBubbles installed on my Mudita, and the Mudita notifies me every time I have an iMessage - however it does not show the message at all. When I open OpenBubbles, under Messages, it just says "You have no chats :frowning: " and that’s it. I get the iMessage on my iPad and laptop, but just the notification chime on Mudita.

You gotta go to the app itself. It’s not going through the messaging app.

Message app is SMS only.

OpenBubbles will be anyone with an iPhone or Mac that is messaging your number

Can you start a new message from OpenBubbles?

Also, if you’re still having trouble with AT&T, I switched to US Mobile (from Verizon) and it saved me a lot of money and I had no issues with using the Mudita.

I fiddled around with the settings last night (very hard to read!) and today when I opened OpenBubbles, my messages were there (from my spouse anyhow, which was my highest priority). Thanks so much for your response! With this enabled, I’m now prepared to go 100% Mudita. I’ve had no issues with AT&T since priming the SIM in a cheap Android phone so, hoping for the best. - again, thanks! this community is really wonderfully helpful.

Ah yes I should have said it can take up to 24hrs for some of your old messages to arrive.

Not all your iMessages are there from the past, but moving forward they will be now that you’re using it on your Mudita

Same here! Once getting OpenBubbles installed I was able to go fulltime Mudita and have been for over six months now. Love it.

Bought a little Sony RX100 camera so I have a better video and photo camera in my pocket too. Great combo
