If the Smartphone Era Is Ending, What Do We Replace It With?

Very interesting article that explores how the era of the smartphone might evolve into something very different.

Some of the things we already heard of, like dedicated AI companion devices, smart glasses, BUR brain-computer interfaces? Could these things eventually reshape how we interact with technology and each other?

I would love to read your thoughts on this. What do you think will truly replace the smartphone, if anything?
And what would you want that future technology to prioritize (e.g., privacy, intentional use, reduced distraction, deeper connection with people)?

That brain implant is exactly what darker forces aka transhumanists are pushing for. I will have none of those suggested things.
My preference is “no phone”, but the only alternative (if needed) is a dumbphone. I will never buy anything with a touchscreen again.

Their plan is definitely for a brain implant

How ironic that the website is called “Humanity Redefined”. They wish!
If people don’t step up soon, there will be a much darker future.
Sad but true:

Good to see that people here are awake to what’s really happening

Seems like they’re trying to push our tech devices even closer to us. Just think how close people keep their smartphones to their faces. The next step is obvously implanting them under our very own skin. Maybe one day we won’t even need a screen, as we’ll seen thing directly on our eyes. Or maybe people will start to realize that all this “comfort” has a price.

Usually, dystopian novels start with a simple question: what will you do if your role in the society will be compromised? If this is the future, what will people do if their brain chip will stop working and they will not be able to access their domotic homes, their shiny workplaces, their virtual money? Maybe they’ll wake up, but it’ll probably be too late.

It is getting increasingly difficult for dystopian novels authors to come up with new ideas before they are implemented to some extent IRL !
