Here's why RCS matters to me

It’s often asked here why RCS is important to users.

This weekend, I didn’t receive a message sent by my dear friend informing me of her engagement. This is because of iPhone/Android MMS/RCS issues. The message was formatted as MMS sent to multiple people. She was wondering wtf was wrong with me for not replying to her big news. I didn’t receive it at all, in spite of others on the group message receiving it.

So for me, RCS is super important for deliverability.

And before anyone asks, yes I properly opted out of RCS before leaving my Google Pixel, and it has been more than 30 days.

Yeah, when you don’t get important messages, it could definitely be frustrating. So, I totally understand.
I am assuming you also have MMS enabled on Mudita Kompakt, as well. In that case, this could be an APN settings issue.

Unfortunately it’s all configured correctly.

I believe the issue is that some of my contacts’ phones still “remember” that they should send to my number as RCS.

Does using some like beeper (https://www.beeper.com/) help here?

I don’t think Beeper handles SMS/MMS, but please let me know if I’m mistaken.
