Harmony 2 small changes/feature additions

Just some small tweaks & additions that would love to see for the Harmony 2 future updates that I think would enhance it, while still remaining simplistic:

  1. Have ability to remove certain default sounds that came with the clock off it, to make room for our own custom ones.

  2. Have ability for 2nd alarm, we can customize days of week & time.

  3. Have a setting where a sound we choose automatically begins at a certain time for a certain duration (act as a sleep timer)- setting could just divert to relaxation if necessary, but making it automatic would be the feature.

  4. If allowed a yellow/warmer tint backlight, have a setting where we choose what time it turns on/off.

Extra bonus to have it “gradually” turn on during bedtime- obviously this part is not necessary and I know people may disagree, it’s just a suggestion keep in mind.

  1. Allow us to have ability to upload our own breath work & sound bath MP3’s for Meditating. It could all be under “Meditation”

I realize not everyone would want this. Hence it would be optional; main feature is allowing us upload CUSTOM mp3 to “Meditation” category- that includes sounds too.

More in-depth detail for developers with explanation so you know where I’m coming from:

1- On Mudita Center, if we can add new custom mp3 files, are we able to remove some default ones that the clock came with? I guarentee I will never use at least 2 of them. I’d love to offload them completely from my clock. It just takes up storage. It also allows each user to customize their sounds uniquely to them.

2- Is there any possibility we could add a second alarm? Think of it as a spousal alarm. My partner and I wake up at different times, but sometimes I still wake up with his iPhone alarm because I use my alarm for myself and he needs to wake up 4 hours before me for work. I think this will ultimately convince him to keep his phone out of the room as well.

You might say “well it doesn’t make sense to make a second alarm just for this specific situation” so let me add another reason/way this could be used. What if someone wants to wake up a little later on weekends? Bam, you can set the 2nd alarm to go off only on Saturdays and Sundays. It might sound complex, but having 2 alarms I feel like isn’t too much. It will allow the user to customize their clock to their situation without having to always re-adjust the alarm time every time they want to change it. It might actually become helpful!

It would certainly add a “day of week” setting though and you can customize which day/s you want that 2nd one to play, whether it’s every day or certain ones.

3- One of my favorite features of the clock is the bedtime reminder, especially because it goes off every night at the exact same time I tell it to. I’m wondering if a setting could be added so that “relaxation” begins at a certain time and for a certain duration every single night?

I know I could easily go to relaxation to put myself to sleep, but if there was an automatic setting like with the bedtime reminder, then I can choose say between 9:30pm-10:00pm it will automatically begin a certain sound. Or if you guys prefer, make the option a length (30 min, 1 hour, etc) where we can adjust time it begins & for that duration we pick before it automatically shuts off. I like that for both bedtime reminder & alarm, we have the option to choose a specific sound, so similarly, would love it if I could choose a specific sound to fall asleep to.

It would basically be an easier way to just add an automatic setting that diverts to relaxation instead of creating a whole seperate category as “sleep timer” but whatever works, honestly. I think this would just be a really nice feature and considering it can already happen, the only thing the developers would add would be a setting to start a nighttime.

4- I love that the alarm in the morning has a setting so that it gradually gets louder. Could there be a setting where at night, the clock light gradually changes from the white light to yellow light? Or more so, the yellow light gradually turns on? It will go along with the bedtime tune to put you in “bedtime” mode. If not, I’m happy with as soon as the bedtime signal goes, the yellow black light turns on. That would be nice. Of course I understand, I myself can make that happen if & when you allow yellow backlight. I could time it so that they are synchronized.

5- For meditation: if the developers ever work out a way where we can add CUSTOM sounds (like we spoke about before) could we ourselves upload breath work and sound bath exercises mp3? I feel like they goes hand in hand with meditation. Otherwise, could that be a feature? I understand not everyone would want this, which is why I’m asking if we can have the option to do it ourselves. That way those who don’t want it don’t need to add it, but it will allow me to upload some under the “meditation”

Let me know if you need me to clarify my idea in any way, will happy to do so. I know I wrote it all lengthy to be descriptive, but I think they could really elevate the experience, while still remaining simplistic.

@muxbree
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed feedback! We truly appreciate the time and effort you’ve taken to share these ideas for enhancing the Harmony 2.

At Mudita, we are always listening to our community and strive to incorporate feedback wherever possible. Your suggestions align closely with our values of simplicity and mindful use of technology, and we will definitely pass them on to our team for further consideration.

That said, while we’re committed to continuous improvement, there are sometimes limitations, both in terms of software and hardware, that might prevent us from implementing every requested feature. However, I can assure you that every suggestion is taken seriously and will be carefully evaluated.

Your ideas, such as the ability to remove default sounds, adding a second customizable alarm, and uploading custom MP3 files for meditation, are particularly interesting, and we understand how they would enhance your personal experience. Even if not all features can be incorporated, we believe there’s always room for innovation and creativity in how we continue to evolve our products.

Thank you again for your input and for being such an engaged member of the community. We’re excited to continue improving the Harmony 2, and your feedback helps us make it better for everyone!

If you have any further questions or ideas, feel free to reach out!

Thank you Urszula, I appreciate it! I look forward to someday hearing that one if not a few of these suggestions be included in an update. I really want to express that the clock itself is a work of art alone and these suggestions would only add to it & make it easier for the user/customer. This however does not take away my appreciation for what already exists. I love the clock thus far and hopefully for many years to come! I am grateful we are able to pass along our ideas to the team because if any or all the features are possible, it would make it that much better!

@muxbree Awwwwwwwww. Thank you so much! I personally LOVE it as well. It’s so unique.

Agreed, both Harmony and Pure are nice art designs. But with technology, it takes art of good software, to make the piece complete

Hi Urszula, (autocorrect typo’d)

What are your thoughts about the team adding a Bedtime Timer & Backlight change that goes along with the Bedtime Reminder?

I know you said you have already passed the idea along, I was just curious of your own opinion and thoughts on this idea.

If this all worked out, I envision it to go along like this:

How it works:

  1. Bedtime Reminder strikes at given time (example: 9:00pm)
  2. Backlight change from white to yellow tint turns on (set at 9:00pm)
  3. Bedtime Timer begins at given time for X duration or X end time (set at 9:30pm for 1 hour / set at 9:30pm ending by 10:30pm)

Customization process:

Backlight:
White Light

  1. Set on/off
  2. Set Beginning time
  3. Set end time

(if selected off, next steps greyed out. This is for people who only want one of the two showing 24hrs. Turning off white light means yellow light 24hrs.)

(If selected on, next steps follows as normal. This is for people who want both light options at different hours of the day.)

Yellow Light:

  1. Set on/off
  2. Set Beginning Time
  3. Set End time

(If selected off, the next steps are greyed out. This is for people who only want one of the two showing 24hrs, turning off yellow light means white light 24hrs on.)

(If selected on, next steps follows as normal. This is for people who want both light options at different hours of the day.)

Bed Timer:

  1. Set beginning time
  2. set duration (or set end time)
  3. Set sound from (either Relaxation or seperate Bedtime Timer)
  4. Set Volume

I really like the Bedtime Reminder  But, are you looking to expand that feature? With a timer for your bedtime routine? Is that what the idea is?

Yes! Well, both adding the bedtime timer as well as the yellow tint backlight for nighttime  I think this feature will be expanded in these ways. Would this be useful for you as well?
