Did group chats stop working for anyone else after the update? If someone texts in a group chat it sends as a private message to only me and says “couldn’t download. Message expired or not available” so I’m not able to read any group chat messages and can’t tell it was sent from a group chat.

I’m getting this error too. I also had it when I first got it upon release, but now it’s back after the update. I’m not quite sure how it resolved itself. Sometimes I need to switch the offline+ switch on and off in order to receive MMS/Group messages - it retries any loading content that way.

Hi @urszula! Yes that setting is on. I tried toggling it off and on but it didn’t seem to help

If it helps I realized today I also cannot get long text messages or images. It worked last week though.

@kyliejoyce This is really odd. What normally happens is that longer text messages are often automatically converted to MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) format when the message exceeds the typical character limit for SMS (Short Message Service). SMS is generally limited to 160 characters, while MMS allows for much longer messages and can also include multimedia content like images. That’s why it helps to make sure that MMS is enabled. However, you already said that you have this on. Our team is looking into it.

@urszula I also tried factory resetting it since it was working originally but it didn’t seem to help.

Hi @urszula! Not sure if it’s related but this week my phone has started sporadically not receiving messages with no error displayed, not sent messages with no error displayed, and has been saying people have texted me when they didn’t. I only noticed when I was checking something on my husband’s phone and saw discrepancies in our text threads and then asked some friends questions and they confirmed the same was occurring with our texts. If it’s relevant everyone I text has an iPhone.

I do have visible though and read another user is having issues with MMS messaging with visible as well.

@sombrero1 I’m sorry that you’re experiencing issues. I’m not sure exactly which specific issues you are experiencing (the group chat - as the title suggests OR the MMS issue).
As you know, Mudita Kompakt does not fully support group messages. That feature will be implemented in a future update this fall. If it’s just the issues with the MMS messages, please make sure all your APN settings are in line with your provider & have the feature enabled on the device.
