Hi, yesterday I needed to use maps and realized the GPS wasn’t working. I tried both the Mudita Maps app and CalmMaps. I downloaded maps for my region and neighboring areas, but it didn’t find my location and didn’t get the directions. Before the latest update, everything was working fine. I enabled assisted GPS, hoping it would work even better. Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks a lot.
@Gorgonauta Thank you for reaching out & I’m sorry that you’re experiencing problems. Can you share if you got some sort of ERROR message? Or nothing was connecting and the maps were not rendering? I just want to make sure I understand what’s happening on your end. If you have pictures, that would help as well.
Basically when I open the Maps app, I see only the Floating Action Button and in the middle the gps dot. If I try to plan a trip it returns the error: “GPS not available. Check that you have a clear view of the sky and that location services are enabled”. Anyway I’ll take some screenshot tonight. Thanks Urszula!!
@Gorgonauta Thank you for the fast response. Also, please report this to our tech support at [email protected] & send them the screenshots as well. They might be able to diagnose the issue faster.
On a side note- when I first enabled A-GPS, I was at home & I was trying to plan a route & I got that same error:
“GPS not available. Check that you have a clear view of the sky and that location services are enabled”
BUT then I just gave it some time by the window (and i mean like 5minutes) and then it worked.
Ok! I’ll try this and if doesn’t work i will report via email directly to the team! Thank you again
I’m just coming back here to say that I solved the issue quite simply. I restarted my phone and then left it outside for about 5 minutes; after that, the maps started working perfectly again. I’m posting this so that if anyone else has the same problem, they can fix it.
Perfect! I’m so glad everything worked out. Thank you for sharing this. It will definitely help other users.
I do something similar myself, I sit outside on a bench and do nothing for a while, after that, I work perfectly.
