I am not sure the issue but have had nothing but problems. My phone was working fine for months. I don’t know if it is the update released or what. Suddenly I dropped reception with the T-Mobile network and it does not want to come back. First Metro-Pcs told me that the phone was not compatible and that my sim of over 20 years expired. I switched to Mint. They both use T-Mobile. Now where I had reception including major cities is disconnected. Massive swaths of California are not with reception. I have been driving across California. This is odd as I had reception in these places before the last two updates. I wish I could delete all the updates and go back to stock to see if that worked. I tried Verizon with this phone also and they can’t activate it. I do not recommend this phone for the U.S. at all. I am contemplating trying the North American version but am afraid of the same kind of problems.
I would get the NA version … I am based on the west coast of Canada and the phone works great for me! The global version is for outside of North America. What made you get the global version?
I had actually tried to purchase the North American version. I bought it on Ebay and was sent the wrong one. They gave me a good price so I kept it. I regret my choice. I am looking to sell this one now.
I am actually wondering if any California users have solid service with Mint Mobile which uses T-Mobile? It was ok only in the S.F. Bay
@Freedom Thanks for reaching out. I’ve asked our team as to what could be the issue in your case. From what you wrote, I gathered that up until recently, your Mudita Kompakt worked fine & had decent reception & this change you’re experiencing is sudden. May I ask why you chose the Global version for use in North America? I’m asking because the NAM version of Mudita Kompakt has an expanded number of bands that are used specifically in North America- particularly the US. When a mobile phone has an expanded number of bands it’s compatible with, it means the phone can connect to a wider range of radio frequencies used by mobile networks.
For example, LTE Band 20 operates at 800 MHz in Europe, while LTE Band 12 is used in the U.S.
We go over this on our support page:
That said, re-activating the SIM Card on other phone can fix the situation, as we saw for other users.
