I got 1.3.0 update today. “Unlock Mode” is set as “Press then touch”.
Fingerprint scanning is way more responsive than before, but still some things are wierd:
After turning the phone off and then on, pressing the button and scanning the finger opens up “enter passcode” screen instead of unlocking.
Also if you hold the power button and press “Lock” icon to lock the screen same thing happens – scanning the finger opens up “enter passcode” screen instead of unlocking.
Hmm… Assuming that pressing buttons is more secure than scanning fingerprint.
In reality someone can overlook or record you unlocking the phone this way, making it more risky.
Funny enough, last episode of Darknet Diaries podcast (#163) described recently case just like that
well yes, that’s why you gotta be careful when using your PIN, OTOH when having it unlockable with just the fingerprint someone can hit you in the head and use your finger while you’re unconcious
I had a missed call today.
Trying to unlock the phone - fingerprint scanner didn’t even start!!!
No vibration - totally frozen - I clicked the button few times - cycling between locked screen (all white with a padlock) and the other one (saying: touch to unlock) - thinking that it might finally turn on the scanner - still nothing happened. Had to put the numerical code to unlock. @urszula could you address the main point of this thread as it had somehow got way off topic.
I will ask the team as to what your be happening in your case, but can you please tell me which unlock option option have you chosen: Touch OR Press then Touch
@UME_1138 Our team said that thats an intentional lock - All phones will ask for PIN after restart.
Holding power button and pressing lock icon there is also an intentional hard lock. Which requires entering PIN next time.
I’ve been doing that since Monday…the good news…I was updated this morning. Likely psychological but feel it is a tad faster. Will build some playlists this evening. Thank you!
