i posted about this on r/dumbphones and r/degoogle, but i was wondering if the kompakt would have a built in “find my” service. nowadays android phones only have a google service based find my phone website, but since this phone has no google play services, it most likely wouldn’t work. im a very forgetful person & loose my phone a lot so this is kind of a must for me :,) luckily someone made an app that can be sideloaded (Find My Device on F-Droid) but the disclaimer that it’s just a hobby project and may or may not work worries me. i feel like it can be streamlined too, like the ability to ring, lock, or track the phone could be a feature built into the mudita center

Find my needs Google Play as of now. There are some side projects looking to enable it or degoogled devices, but it’s not happening yet.

@supersecretpasswordj I passed this question to our team. Given the lack of tracking on Mudita Kompakt, I’m not sure how this would work, but let’s see what our team says.
@supersecretpasswordj Our team came back right away with a response about this:
This feature heavily interferes with user privacy, which is why we don’t have the option available.
