Feedback on eReader: volume button and highlights

I’m loving the Mudita Kompakt eReader. I haven’t sideloaded any apps, and for me, the native eReader is more than enough for some reading while commuting or waiting. I wanted to give some feedback for future updates:

  • Having the chance to turn the pages using the volume buttons. I read this in another thread or Reddit post, and I can’t find it; it’s not my idea. I think it would be awesome as it would make it much more comfortable to read with one hand while in public transport, for example. Perhaps it is something easy to implement as an option that users can turn on or off? That way, it can be useful for some of us without annoying those who don’t want this feature.
  • Something that is not necessary but would be awesome: highlights! I think that if the native eReader had the chance to highlight and export those highlights (even with a simple clippings.txt file as Kindle does), it would become an amazing native app in the Mudita Kompakt. Like having an actual eReader in your pocket.

Thank you @asede ! I’ll share this with the team behind Kompakt

Please also note that the contrast is off, most likely due to the lack of a slow refresh mode in this app.

I just started using KoReader on the Kompakt, I am surprised how good it is, I can change everything I wished for. Contrast, margins, screen out time, dictionary, volume buttons turn pages etc. I can only recommend it.

Agreed, Koreader is phenomenal, I’ve been using if for a while on other devices but it’s really well suited to the Kompakt. The ability to have tight margins, high contrast and force landscape are brilliant. The best thing is the ability to sync to other devices though. The kompakt will never be my primary reader due to the size so the ability to read on it out and about but then pick up where I left off on another reader is awesome

Now I’m thinking about something else! Perhaps having the chance to hide the progress percentage would allow for an extra line of text in every screen

Librera FD is much better than the default app.

I thought that sideloaded apps like koreader don’t have access to the high contrast screen mode?

It’s one of the settings in the app. Its granular as well, not just high contrast on/off. You can adjust almost anything in koreader, albeit that gives it a bit of a learning curve.

Some more feedback! The book’s progress percentage does not match the actual progress. It happened with the first book I read, but also with the second one. The book seems to end at around 60-70% instead of 100%. Is there a form or something to send these bugs and feedback so it is taken into account? Thank you!

Thank you! Currently, we’re mostly gathering feedback through a survey, which everyone who has purchased Kompakt will receive a link to in an email sent within a few days after the package has been delivered.

If you’ve received your Kompakt but haven’t gotten an email with the survey link, you can request it via support.mudita.com.

Meanwhile, our product development team carefully monitors feedback submitted not only through this survey but also via the Forum, Reddit, social media, and other channels.

That’s great! I sent the survey, and I’m posting here my feedback after the survey. Thank you.

Please also give the option to remove ebooks from the mudita itself! Including meditation cards. This allows for more organization!

I was able to reproduce the bug! Here you can see that in the last page of the book the percentage jumps from 64% to 100%:
