Estimated launch date of MuditaOS K 1.6.0 (in your opinion)

Hello, guys! As I, said, I made another post of estimated launch dates . I saw some stuff on google that said that a 1.6.0 update will launch in Q3. I really think it will launch on August 29 or 27 2026.

The question is: What is so expected to be in the 1.6 release? What makes you impatient of it?

Voivemail stuff and improvements. I heard that 2026 is a very big update for the Kompakt. There will be more ringtones, and in Q4 you will be able to uninstall APKs directly from the Kompakt.

End of August is a good guess since 1.5 came in May, but Q3 goes through September, so I’m not getting my hopes up :slight_smile:

@urszula: Will Mudita sell Kompakt cellphones with MuditaOS K v1.6.0 already installed?

I ask because some comments on the Mudita Forum have given me the impression that anyone with a new Kompakt starts at v1.0.0 and must upgrade to 1.1.0, and then to 1.2.0, and so on.

Hello! No, you do not have to start from 1.0.0. I bought this Kompakt when it was February, and OS K 1.4.0 was aleready installed. Maybe those usera have bought it second hand (probably not) or something like that.

Of course, no. The logic suggests the opposite. If your device is 1.4.0, it means that somebody already has used it and updated to 1.4.0.

I bought mine from the official website couple of weeks ago, and had to go through all versions.

I would say that’s unlikely, a more plausible explanation is newer stock are flashed with the newer version of the OS when manufactured, it could be possible there are some old stock and when a buyer receives one it needs the updated os to be installed

If you bought directly from us, it’s not a used device, unless you bought an OUTLET version- Which is a clearly marked OUTLET purchase at a lower price:

However, buying directly from our Mudita Store, you are getting a brand new device.

As for me, I had to install all the updates one by one and I purchased this phone not even 2 months ago. A long process yes but only once to do.

That’s quite difficult to confirm and guarantee this for every single device. For this to happen, our team would have to go in and update all the devices in our stock right after the update. Eventually, that will happen, but if you order right after the update, chances are you’ll have to update from 1.5.0 to 1.6.0
