Emergency Alerts

I’m from Canada and I’ve been thinking about purchasing a Kompakt as my daily driver - yesterday, a test of the National Public Alerting System got paged to my current smartphone and it got me thinking: does the Kompakt recieve and display emergency alerts? I’m hoping a fellow Canadian user got the alert on theirs.

@kad I’ll wait for other Canadians to chime in to confirm how things work where you’re at, but I’ve received Emergency Alerts in BOTH Poland & Germany. In different ways:

In Poland, we still get text messages:

However, in Germany, the Emergency alerts are sent via Cell Broadcast.

Both ways work on Mudita Kompakt. Check which way they are delivered in your area.

Thank you so much for responding. Canada’s are sent via Cell Broadcast - since you’re recieving the same kind in Germany, I have confidence it’ll be the same in Canada.
If anyone has any confirming screenshots, I’d still love to see them, but I think this is enough info to cement my decision!

Cell Broadcast Warnings

Today, there was the annual nation wide alarm testing day in Germany. On this day, emergency apps are being tested and also, low level Cell Broadcast (“Presidential Alerts”) are part of the test. Wireless emergency alarms are part of Android since Android 12 (which is what Kompakt is based off). So, I was wondering how the alarm would look on the phone. It worked!
