Eink Parking (DUTCH) — Community App Review

A very, VERY, simple parking application that relies on https://smsparking.nl/. Basically, with SMSParking you can send 230 1KGK12 to 4030 and it will start a parking action for you. When you send Q it will stop the action for you. This simple application basically adds some nicities around this experience. It allows you to add cars and sends the SMS for you. It also includes a timer when the parking session is started. In your SMS app you can see the cost after the parking session. Also if there is an issue with the app, you can send Q manually to 4030 and it will also quit the session. I would love for this app to work worldwide/europe, but I think that would require a lot of work. If there are services like this available in other countries I am willing to consider adding multiple services for other countries.

Does this work in every city/village? I text my wife everytime I’m somewhere, (like today Breda) she starts a Q-Park session for my car.
If thats the case this is revolutionary for me.

The app is very simple, it sends a message with your zone (i.e. 230) + license plate to 4030 to start the session and Q when you finish it. You just have to locate the zone yourself, I think adding a feature where the zone is found based on GPS is quite complex.
If the app will ever not work for some weird reason, you can manually text ‘Q’ to 4030 to stop the parking.
Make sure to have an account at https://smsparking.nl as it relies on that service for payment, etc.

I think walking a little to see the parking sign or the payment terminal is better than gps as my old apartment in Rotterdam would charge you double if you are not in one of the side streets. And gps of the Kompakt is not always the best. I will keep my horrible opinions about Rotterdam to myself.

Horrible opinions about Rotterdam actually prove that you really lived there (saying this as someone who was born and raised there).
All jokes aside, I agree about GPS not being ideal here. Some streets have different zones on different sides of the street. This is more reliable than with the Kompakt GPS.
