Has anyone used the mudita kompakt to scan barcodes on e-tickets? Does it work properly? I can get the pdf tickets onto the phone easily and open in the reader app, but haven’t had a chance to test it yet. TIA!
Airplane tickets worked perfectly fine for me, so there shouldn’t be any reason why other kind of tickets would not work
+1, works fine for barcodes and QR-codes for me
I have taken pics with the Kompakt camera of the qr codes for my gym and movie tickets this past week and both worked properly
I did have a question for @urszula , how did you download your travel documents onto the kompakt? I remember you mentioning this on one of your trips, how do you access these on the kompakt?
I’ve downloaded concert tickets (pdf) and opened them in the e-reader, no problem. Be aware some QRs change constantly within a app so those won’t be usable on the Kompakt since they become invalid almost instantly… unless you were able to sideload the app. But scanning ones that don’t update over time? Should be no problem
Thanks everyone. I tested it out today with a downloaded pdf with a QR code for picking up an online purchase. Worked fine!
@minimalist4life I have several ways I do this- it just depends how pressed for time I am
Uploading PDF to Kompakt via Mudita Center- the eBook upload function. I did that the first time when I traveled to Athens in March. Boarding pass worked like a charm.
Then, on my way back, I didn’t have Mudita Center on my tablet- so I took a screen shot & sent myself an image via WhatsApp (it also works for regular text messages- I tried it last month in Istanbul).
For those of you on Signal, I’d highly recommend making use of the “Note to Self” feature. I’ve pinned this at the top and can easily drop quick items like tickets etc in there (of course be sure to use screenshots/images as almost ever other media type doesn’t seem to work properly on the Kompakt)
I sideloaded the einkbro browser to access amazon locker barcodes. They scanned just fine.
That’s a great tip, thanks, didn’t know about that feature
