When reading PDFs in the stock E-reader application, pages only scroll continuously, instead of instantly rendering the next page. The latter should be the default behavior, especially on e-ink. As far as I can tell, the user can not change this behavior. Thank you!

Adding to this. It seems pdfs are very difficult to read. I’m new to using the e reader app, but it seems it doesnt adjust text to fit the screen properly. I have to continuously move the screen to read the full sentence at a legible text size. There also doesnt seem to be a rotate ability which might get the screen to fill to a better reading size.
Am i missing something? Do other file types come in legible? I havent ventured into full reading on it yet, but i sure plan to with the stock reader and the sideloaded library “libby” app

I just want to make sure we’re on the same page when it comes to the differences between PDF and ePUB files because that could be what you are experiencing.
- PDFs use a fixed page layout, usually designed for an A4 or Letter-sized page. When enlarged on Mudita Kompakt’s 4.3-inch screen, the entire page is magnified, so the reader has to move horizontally to finish each line.
- ePUB files use reflowable text. The text rearranges itself to fit the screen, and changing the font size should preserve complete lines. For ordinary books, ePUB should be considerably more comfortable.

Thanks for educating me! Seems i need to figure how to convert some pdfs to epubs then. Looks like there’s a few options for me to try. Thanks!

Some readers have a “reflow” functionnality (i think that’s the word) for pdfs. I use KOReader and for every new pdf, i spend a little time adjusting text size and contrasts, but then it works like a charm. I gave up the native reader for this reason : no reflow for pdfs.
