I know this has been requested in other areas of the forum but I didn’t see it in this new forum subsection. Unfortunately I cannot keep using my Kompakt and will likely be selling it simply because it does not have Do Not Disturb / Modes. I don’t have the luxury of silencing all calls or blocking unknown calls so this feature is a must have with any cell phone as it’s my primary phone, so I can select who can break through from my contacts list and which apps can as well.
@Minimus: If you like everything else about your Kompakt, then you may want to try the Silence app, which is available from F-Droid.
Thanks for sending me this. I found it as well but it appears to silence calls all the time…I just want to silence certain calls during a timeframe like when I’m asleep. But allow specific contacts to come through.
This seems like a prime candidate for developing (or even vibe coding) a little app. Android has had baked-in DND services that are exposed to apps since well before Android 12. They may or may not be present on the Kompakt for a developer to poke at.
Yes, @lisa is/was? working on an app. I think an issue is that while Android has had it baked in, MuditaOS has removed some necessary code. I tried installing a FOSS app yesterday that could set up DND and schedules. When it tried to access the stock DND/Modes setting the app crashed as it couldn’t locate what it needed. It would be nice if MuditaOS just came stock with it.
This works great on my Kompakt.
Sorry to hear that. Custom sounds & notifications is on our roadmap for this year, and a dedicated DND mode is also on the radar for a future update.
Yes, I was working on the Ruhezeiten app and it still needs bugfixes. I have not been able to work on it recently but I hope to finish it. We’ll see if a Mudita update gets to it first!
