Decision made. I am buying the

Also when the launch goes live we just have to refresh the kickstarter page for the Kompakt right? Then we can pre-order?

Thanks yeah this is an important one for me because it would be nice just to see just incoming calls not text messages when I am listening to a podcast on the kompakt or reading a book on the e-reader

This is the link: Mudita Kompakt Kickstarter
Make sure you refresh the page

Not sure you can tell me this either, but please tell me my fav ringtone from the Pure commercials will be on this phone, that alone will make me choose it over the LP3 lol

The launch is soon, please be patient. I know you’re really excited, but asking 100 questions is not going to help your case. Wait until you see the launch live because maybe the Kickstarter will answer a few of your questions. Then, you can ask or send an email. Like I said, you don’t really need to have all the information prior to the launch, just wait for the Kickstarter to go live in an hour.

I pre-ordered it lol, April is so far away lol.
I did the pledge where I can pick the color, not sure what color to pick but I am thinking the white to match my harmony

See lol. I knew you’d change your mind once it kickstarter came out. I’m not sure if I’m going to pledge. The phone sounds great for a minimal option compared to a smartphone. I like that there are no distractions and it functions relatively well in the demo, but it’s too much like a smartphone in the way it functions. I think I’ll stick with my LP3 pre-order because the OS is different. I’m still undecided if I will purchase anyway to decide later and sell the phone I don’t want…difficult for me to choose.

Edit: I think I will pass, I don’t think that phone is for me. I can feel it in my gut. Maybe one day I’ll regret it, but, I think for me, it’s a dumbed down smartphone which isn’t really what I’m looking for. Plus, no video support at the start, whereas LP3 is coming with one. I appreciate what Mudita has set forth to make and I’m sure it will make a lot of people happy. I still very much love my Harmony 2, so I stand by this company. However, the phone is not for me. To each their own.

Yeah I am keeping my pre-order for the LP3 as well, who knows after using it from Jan- May 2025, I may end up just keeping it and cancelling the Mudita pre-order, will see,…I think at the end of the day yeah it looks like a smartphone but I mean you can’t do anything on it, it has no browser and no other distracting apps,

Yeah, you’re right. I understand that completely that there are no distractions or web browsing, and I do like that. However, that one principle is the same with Light Phones.

I’m actually look forward to the LP3 difference where there’s no wallpaper even, it just appears different and that is really refreshing and super exciting. Have you seen the new blog post of the updates? It comes with video as well. I almost caved and purchased the Kompakt, but I didn’t feel super excited about it and it’s not coming until mid-next year. If I really concentrate and look at the demo of the phone, I was trying to imagine myself owning it already and I just couldn’t. So. It’s a personal thing, nothing wrong with the phone.

For advanced users who prefer using existing apps, Mudita Kompakt allows you to manually install compatible APK files, including messaging apps like WhatsApp or Signal. Please note that sideloading third-party apps may affect device performance and void the warranty. Additionally, some apps may require Google Services, which could limit their functionality on the device.

Yeah right now I don’t like the fact that you can sideload apps onto the Pure, I have a bad tech addiction and I like not having that ability so now I am not sure. I have used a dumbphone long enough that I feel like I could have self control, and also not all apps would work on the Kompakt as they need the google playstore to run. Just saw the LP3 update very exciting and it drops in January so it will be in my hands soon. Will see…it will be hard to ultimately decide which phone is best for me.

You think its a coincidence the Light phone 3 released this today. After seeing that video now I am like damn that phone is the one I want LOL…good lord this will be a tough decision. Its really good how the pics are in color and it has video capability

Well, the update was actually released a few days ago. Was there something else released today?

Anyway, I don’t think there’s any connection with the releases. And I think it’s great that Mudita released their Kickstarter now, so those who want to cancel their LP3 pre-order can do so and gain full refund. It’s definitely a tight competition, but, the phones are different enough that it isn’t a huge competition in the aspect of customers- each phone is different and will suit different people’s needs. I think that all customers will be happy no matter which phone they end up with.

Sideloading is good as opposed to no more apps then included.
Fact that all not work on e-ink is not Kompakt specific, coders need to think of weird 800x res
and slower refresh of e-ink. Since e-inks are less then 1 % of smarties, they simply dont.
Example is on Yota 2 I could mirror main screen but I had like 10 apps and widgets that really supported e-ink.
