It does not need to be a smartphone, but should have an option to be turned into one.
Did it show any of the apps it has access to
Yes, was able to open all of the apps. Nothing surprising. I don’t recall exactly all of them. Just opened each briefly. The interfaces were all nice and simple.
What type of apps ? Was there a directions app by chance?
@anon52747040 I think they will add offline maps.
@urszula Does this have anything to do with OpenStreetMap?
Nice, thats better than nothing!
I think, if that’s the case, it’s good progress.
And if Mudita could just develop their own app which uses the WhatsApp and Signal API, that would be great. SMS just isn’t very secure.
If I understand correctly, WhatsApp and Signal are proprietary. You’ll have to use the respective apps.
I am wondering if Mudita (and Light) can build their own apps using the protocol, like Punkt have done with Pigeon on the MP02.
SMS definitely is not private in the USA. SMS travels over the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), and the U.S. federal government records every SMS message (as well as the meta-data about every telephone call made over the PSTN).
Sending an SMS message in the USA is equivalent to sending a postcard, which anyone in the U.S. Postal Service who handles that postcard can read.
Well, the excitement is certainly building - like a good novel! There is that longing to turn to the last page and read how it ends, but also the desire to sustain the excitement and allow it to build naturally during the course of reading. This is how I feel about Kompakt - only the last page is not in my hands to be read just yet so patience is entwined with the excitement!
Naaawwwww, our little Kompakt friend is getting it’s first glimpse of the world - welcome MuKo! You’re welcome to come and meet me just as soon you’re ready!
I wonder what they do with all of that data and information? And how long it is stored for?
Offline maps - huzzah! Looking forward to the next reveal and the launch of Kickstarter
Well done team Mudita!
I can’t see the finger scanner, do we have it ?
Did hear any mention of a calendar app though. That is a deal breaker for me. If it does not have a calendar option and group text messaging I am not buying it, and honestly there is no excuse for them not to put in both of these abilities
@urszula, will we receive any additional information soon regarding the products presented last weekend?
@roberto Other than Mudita Kompakt & Mudita Harmony (which you’re familiar with) we did have some cool lamps on display at IFA in Berlin. We’re planning to expand our product lineup with more items designed for a harmonious and mindful lifestyle. Although we can’t reveal any more info yet, bur stay tuned for all the details.
@anon52747040 You can look through the pix & video in this article
I think you will get a lot of the info you’re looking for
