So I had been using the LIght phone 3 for a few months now but then I got into chess which my son is into and he was of course beating me at it all the time lol. So I started getting books from the library and I remembered I still had my kompakt which I had stored away to keep for my son when he hits high school. I remember it had chess on it so I started practicing chess on the phone when I was out and about, it turned into my daily driver and its funny before it reminded me too much of a smart phone because I had a bad smartphone addiction so I preferred a phone that did not look like one but now that I play chess on it it does not have that same smart phone feeling to me anymore and I love using it as my daily driver lol. Put my light phone 3 up for sale and I have to admit I love using this phone again. I keep coming back to this phone and company. I still use my harmony which I love and I am glad to be back on the forums again. Looks like there are some new apps people have developed like calmqr which I have used very nice and the directory that was created these are game changers for this phone. I am just wondering it seems like the communuty is filling in the gaps why is it taking so long for the mudita team to roll some changes out. I notice the calendar is still the same. When are we getting syncing with other calenders? Even just the ability to repeat an event so I don’t have to keep on manually putting in events over and over again. We are closing in on a year since the phone has been released I was expecting much bigger updates. Light phone has had some major updates in that time. Like I said glad to be back but I am hoping we get some major updates soon for this phone

I really appreciate Mudita for open sourcing their components and design docs so that the community can adapt this device for their own needs. It really is a best of all worlds I think, and I’m sure as we continue to use it and different contributors develop for it that should only continue.
I personally don’t mind the simplistic calendar, but that said it fits my needs as is. Your complaint is a common one however, particularly with Apple Calendar syncing, and I’ve seen other users here sideload apps to replace the stock calendar in such cases. That said, perhaps one of these developers may have a go at an MMD focused Calendar with the ability to sync, though, as you’ve pointed out, that’s really a matter of time and interest.
the chess app would have been perfect if it had 2 player mode also.
The apps created with MMD are really cool. The thought process that goes into all of these apps is really amazing. I’m super excited to see what our community can think of next.
