Capturing (semi-structured) Thoughts on the move

Hey there, I’m exploring how people capture thoughts while away from their desk. Especially when walking or between meetings.
If this is something you do regularly, I’d love to hear how you handle it. This might become a new addition to the group of apps specifically designed for the mudita kompakt.

Edit: I am here mostly interested in longer trains of thought, like building up an argument, spelling out a concept etc. I am someone who often can better do that walking, or ideas come to me during walking, and sometimes I have meetings afterwards, so the coherent train of thought is not so easy to capture later. I am just experimenting (quite deeply) with audio capture and transscription on the mudita and am pretty amazed by what is possible with some good design choices. If you feel something like this is close to what you either do or would like to do: please reach out.

I actually remember them. I’ve never used a phone for this, not even a paper notepad.

Hey there, thanks for responding. What do you mean by “remember them”? What do you use instead of paper and phone?

Same here, I was trying to carry pen and paper with me but I can overthink an issue for so long that I manage to get back to something while still focused at it.

Quick solution when I had to write something down while listening to few hrs of lectures - MK notes app.

I just remembered about the Zettelkasten method. I was planning to try it.

What do you guys think?

Do you know an app for that that could work well on MK?

I’ve always taken note-taking very seriously. I use them a lot; sometimes, after a while, I no longer need them. Sometimes, as you say, you end up delving deeply into topics through your notes. Voice transcription would be very useful, even though it has the limitation that you can only use it when you’re alone.
