most of my friends use some type of android device, and ive been able to receive photos and send stuff to them just fine, but one of my friends is an iphone user and he told me he tried sending my an image with a party invite and I never saw any notification of anything being sent. regular texts send just fine, we still talk back and forth, but I tried sending him photos yesterday and he said he wasnt receiving anything, has this happened to anyone else ?

How long have you had the MK? Were you previously an iPhone user? If yes, did you de-register your phone number from iMessage before leaving iOS? Similar question if you previously were an Android user - did you de-register your number from RCS inside Google Messages?

i switched over 3 weeks ago- but only just now learned that i had to go into google messages to deregister: question now i have you might know, do I have to reinsert the sim card to deregister it? or do you think turning it off on my old phone was enough? thanks

You should use Google’s removal tool here: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat
Fill it out as if you don’t have the phone. You’ll be texted a code. In four weeks (edit: 30 days, not 4 weeks) , you’ll be totally RCS free.

De-registering from RCS & iMessage is key. Please keep in mind that it can take upto 30day for the RCS de-registration to fully take effect. It’s usually faster, BUT we’ve had user report that it can take that long.
