Call vibration too weak

I got my Mudita Kompakt last week and I’m really enjoying it! My phone use has already dropped significantly, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

There’s just one thing I’m struggling with: the vibration feels quite weak, and I’ve already missed a couple of calls because of it. I was wondering: is it possible to make the vibration stronger?

I even tried tweaking it through ADB with the following command:

adb shell settings put system ring_vibration_intensity 3

…but unfortunately, that didn’t seem to make any difference.

If increasing the vibration isn’t possible, another great alternative would be to keep the sound only for calls, while keeping notifications from other apps (like WhatsApp) silent. That way I wouldn’t miss important calls but could still enjoy the calmness of fewer notifications.

Has anyone managed to configure this, or found a workaround?

@Joshuaa Are the native settings not getting the job done?

I find ‘Always vibrate’ too weak. The option ‘Vibrate first, then gradually ring’ only works if the phone isn’t on silent, but enabling sound also turns on notification sounds for other apps.

@Joshuaa I will pass this feedback on to the team. I am curious if others find the vibrations too weak, too loud or just right?

What could help is that in the notification sounds list an option “off” will be added

I definitely feel most modern phones today their vibration is too weak to notice. Especially compared to old phones prior to the smartphone era. In those days you were able to tweak the vibration intensity to quite insane levels. The “IT Crowd” BBC episode skit was a classic example of the intensity achievable, where they were at a funeral and the phone rang and he thought he was having a heart attack cause of his phone vibration was set so extreme.

It would be cool if the Mudita could have a setting to adjust the intensity of the vibration to higher levels so you feel it… Although it could be a hardware limitation of modern phones these days. Yeah I feel it could be more intense.

I indeed find the vibrations too weak. I realize that I feel the need to regularly leave the phone out of my pocket to check that I haven’t miss an important message notification – something I never did with my old dumbphone.

And I don’t know how to easily shut down the vibration mode (useful when I want to keep it on my desk during a meeting for example).

Vibrations could be possibly stronger but it seems it’s a smartphone standard strength.
