I just got my Kompakt (hurrray!!) And I wonder if I can sync my google calender with the calender in the phone?

Welcome Roald! As I understand it that capability is not part of the Kompakt just yet, although they may add it soon.

Look at the AI-generated answer in the Brave browser to the “can davx5 talk to google calendar” query. If you can sideload the DAVx5 app and the Etar app into your Kompakt, then you might have a solution prior to anything that Mudita enables.

To put a reality check to the AI answer: I did exactly this, sideloaded DAVx5 and connected it to my Google Account. However, to complete the auth step, you need to temporarily sideload a browser - I used Vivaldi. With this my contacts and my calendar are now syncing. I still need to figure out the interval as auto-syncing presumably won’t work. Contacts appear in the stock phone app. Calendar needs a sideloaded app like Etar.

I have sideloaded OneCalendar, which has support for Google Calendar accounts. The only thing is that you need a non-Webview browser to login to Google, and this browser needs to be the default. So I installed Firefox, for instance, and ran:

adb shell cmd role add-role-holder android.app.role.BROWSER org.mozilla.firefox

After this you can add the account to the calendar and everything works fine, read & write.

I received my Kompakt today and installed DAVx5 to try with my Fastmail. The contacts synced fine, but the calendar events don’t appear. I guess their calendar app doesn’t use the Android calendar but an internal database. Pïty.

I thus installed the Fastmail app, which is a simple webapp, to read my calendar.

Exactly, you need a third party app. I really wonder why Mudita designed their calendar app to not use the Android calendar. Maybe, in a future update this could be an option? Because I really love Mudita’s stock apps and their well thought through simplicity!
