Calendar 2.0 WILL LIKELY Support Third Party Sync

Having not received any information from Mudita’s development team on whether the upcoming calendar app will support sync via 3rd party clients (i.e. for iCloud, Nextcloud, etc.), I decided to run some tests myself. I downloaded and locally built their open source fork of Davx5 v1.0.0.3 and ran it on an emulator to see how it handled importing calendar events. When I signed in with my google account, it imported the two events and saved them to the android system calendar. This is significant because currently the stock calendar app stores events on its own internal database, NOT the system calendar. This LIKELY means that the upcoming calendar 2.0 will read events from the system calendar, and any and all third party sync providers should work with it.

That’s perfect, thanks for digging into this. And how great it is to have OSS.

my thought - perhaps phone data like photos, notes could be synced with servers through the Mudita app installed on a desktop computer? that would limit messing with mudita OS and give much more options - like using a VPS with nextcloud - the calendar is going to be synced with google which is sufficient I feel .

Also, why not use notes as calendar entries tagged NOTE ? these could have a status of an all day event and be easily synced with Google Calendar and e.g. recognized by gemini in order to scrape info from them
