Bug with File Management in Mudita Center

Hi there,

I recently got my Mudita Kompakt and have generally been enjoying it. I’ve taken some photos that I’d like to get off it, but it seems that there is a bug with the Mudita Center software. For both me on Linux x86 and my girlfriend’s MacOS (we both got kompakts!) laptop, the “Manage Files” tab simply goes blank when we click on it. As a result, we cannot offload any of the photos we receive!

Any tips or help would be appreciated.

I had that problem as well. My work-around was this: I bought a 512 MB microSD for the extra slot. Plugged that into a converter that allows you to plug the microSD directly into a USB or USB-C slot in your mac. (This is what I bought…)

Once I plugged it into my mac, I was able to use Finder to simply create folders and drag-and-drop mp3 music files and ePub files on to the chip.

Reinstalled the chip into my Kompakt, and voila! When launching a music app or reader app, I just selected the microSD chip as the data source. Works perfectly.

Solid workaround! Definitely hope there is a software workaround too though because I’d prefer not to buy extra stuff just to access my files. Thanks for the input!

Agreed on not wanting to buy extra stuff. However, I had been overjoyed by the idea of the expandability of the memory in the Mudita (because I had always been swapping music files on and off my iPhone for want of space). By using that removable, memory expansion chip, I was able to load every piece of music I have ever collected in the past 60 years (in mere minutes), onto my phone – with room to spare – and I am enjoying listening to music like never before. So, for me, it was well worth the price. Of course, your mileage may vary. Hope you find a solve that suits your needs!
