Nice – the Kompakt’s rendering of the Audible GUI looks great!
Just print the photo and cut the phone out with scissors like a normal person.
@The YOU WIN!
Is it weird I am thinking about doing that now?
Also is it too late to join Mudita? Do you guys need a sales guy? I promise I am not just trying to join the company to get the phone early…
I love that it is smooth and crisp, as much as i love the light phone 2 since I only use it to text and thats basically all I will do with the Kompakt I need a phone that is quick and can text with ease, if all I am using my phone for is texting I want it to be fast, I am honestly so frustrated using the LP2 now because I know how much faster the Kompakt will be lol, god it it May yet!??
I sometimes I wish I just ordered the global version lol, I have a feeling it will do the job with very little difference in call quality between the NA version, I mean lets be honest we don’t even use our phones to call lol, we need texting to go through thats it lol
From some quick research: Using the NA version in NA means you are optimizing the available local networks around you. NA also uses different bands that many International versions do not include. Lastly, you can almost always use a NA version globally. I believe you made the right call.
The last international phone I used in the US gave me lots of trouble connecting to data. It also dropped calls constantly. I actually had to switch carriers just for it to work.
I can’t wait to hold it in my hands to see what the actual size is, but it looks like its not big and not small, just the right size
Check out this thread on the Mudita Forum.
Anyone living in the USA or Canada should be better off with the NA version, based on my research (posted in that thread).
I had another question, using the camera if I take a pic of a QR code say for a movie ticket, would they be able to scan the code from my Kompakt at the movies? Would love this because I take my kids to the movies a lot and I always have to print out the tix and its a waste of paper
Interesting idea! I may try this when I get my Kompakt, but for taking a picture of the return-merchandise QR code that Amazon generates when it approves my return request.
I usually print that QR code and take the print-out with the to-be-returned item to my local department store for hand-off to an Amazon agent in the back of the store. It would be nice to use my Kompakt to snap a photo of the QR code on my computer monitor and then take the Kompakt instead.
Also, I do not want to install the Amazon app on my Kompakt.
- I prefer to access Amazon through my computer.
- And, I am amused by others returning their items but struggling to retrieve the QR codes on their smartphones to show Amazon’s return-merchandise agent. They either cannot find the QR codes in their email clients or cannot find the QR codes in their Amazon app.
Your idea is a nice high-tech/low-tech approach!
Yeah logically I am assuming the pic will be clear enough to be scanned, I would not see why the scanning machine would not be able to pick up the code on an e-ink screen, I will do one better on the amazon account, I don’t have one lol
@minimalist4life Our team said that you will be able to scan QR-codes with Mudita Kompakt to e.g. seamlessly connect to WiFi access point or connect an eSIM to your device. I’ve asked them to elaborate about tickets and other things, and I am waiting to hear back.
Nice yeah honestly I am almost 100 percent sure it will work, when I print out tickets they can scan them at the movies and e-ink looks like paper so I am sure they will be able to scan a code I take a pic of
So this may work for standard line barcodes also, like flight tickets. I seem to recall someone asking about this elsewhere on the forum…
Yeah honestly I would not see why it would not work
@galtions I’m gonna try out boarding my flight this week using Mudita Kompakt I will definitely report how it went
