Great write-up as always, Urszula!
I really love the fact that Mudita goes to a conference filled with all the latest gadgets and essentially says, “Hey, there’s an alternative way to live life.”
I was at the library again this weekend, as I often am. When I’m not studying for school, I’ll usually go without my laptop and just bring some books to read. I have my Light Phone 2 with me (soon to be a Kompakt), and between my 50-minute reading sessions, I take breaks where I’ll either go for a walk outside the library or, often, just observe people from the top-floor balcony, where you can see everyone.
What I still see, though, is almost no one reading books.
Parents are on their smartphones. People are on their laptops. Kids are playing video games on the library computers. I see books all around me, and yet hardly anyone is actually reading them.
Every time I see this, it saddens me.
Unfortunately, I don’t see the future getting much better. I think the pull of technology will always keep people addicted to screens. But thank God there are companies like Mudita and Light that give people the option to step out of the matrix and actually enjoy life.
I think that’s why I always switch between Light and Mudita. I genuinely respect both companies for making my life better.
I’m going to use both phones, whichever one suits my mood that particular day. On “Light” days, I’ll have my “Less phone, more life” T-shirt on, along with my Light hat. When I’m in a Kompakt mood, I’ll wear my “Mudita, be here now” shirt and my Mudita hat that I created, which is coming soon.
I like to do my part and spread the message of these two great companies and share their messages as much as possible. I keep waiting for the day when I go to the library and see someone other than myself pick up a book instead of plugging into the internet.
yes, cool.
